howl  sat,    half-lying  on  his  side,    w̲i̲t̲h̲ ̲ ̲o̲n̲e̲ ̲ ̲l̲e̲g̲ ̲ ̲s̲p̲l̲a̲y̲e̲d̲  &.    his  black-blue  feathers  split  awkwardly,    crusted  with  blood,    around  his  head    (  he’d  hit  that  when  he’d  come  crashing  down,    too  ).    he  was  very  certain  the  answer  to  that  was  a  loud  &.    resounding  NO.    his  leg  hurt  so  badly  that  it  would  be  a  miracle  if  it  weren’t  broken,    or  at  least  severely  damaged.    dark  feathers  still  itched  at  his  neck,    his  temples  &.    arms  &.    legs.    everywhere  he  could  spot  ;    n̲o̲t̲ ̲ ̲o̲n̲l̲y̲ ̲ ̲t̲h̲a̲t̲,    but  he  could  already  guess  his  clothing   hold  his  dignity  together.    in  his  throat,    his  voice  warbled,    then  quieted  when  he  swallowed  against  it.    ❛  …  n̲o̲,    ❜    he  admitted,    looking  a  bit  embarrassed  with  himself.    he  stirred  as  though  trying  to  cast  a  spell  on  himself  that  would  make  him  walk,    but  nothing  happened.
