Shi is not a selfless woman. Far from it. For Goro Majima, perhaps she feels a softness, an affinity. She herself enjoys the bite of pain, the fight-or-flight onslaught of adrenaline. Rushing in to take the brunt of would-be killing blows for him is not something Shi spends too much time dwelling on. She's in the thick of it as cruel men cackle.
"Shut up, you dumbass." Shi says to the bleeding yakuza. The woman grunts and grinds her teeth as iron crashes into a flower in the dip between shoulder and throat. It's enough for her to believe her clavicle shattered, but she retains the wherewithal to avoid the other strikes.
For her part, she holds a fire ax.
"If you want to fight, get up and do it. Otherwise, you gotta deal with a girl fighting for you."
The chauvinism of yakuza was, at times, gallant, but still annoying as hell. She can give and take as well as the boys!
