a/n- andd, it's here <3. It's sitting in my drafts for AGES,I am writing this mid-season hoping MI would win sooo I had always wanted to write something for my finshyt. CHAPTER ONE
drunken mistakes
This year's IPL season has started on a very bad note for Mumbai Indians, reflecting on the team members mental and physical state, the constant criticism from people and the trolling on the internet was like a cherry on top for this whole situation.
Especially for Tilak Varma, he was a young spirit, he has always glided through the pitch like he owned it by his impressive style. he bewitched a kind of essence that made him stand out among the young players, his coaches were amazed by him while his fans were absolutely awestruck by the charm he flared in the field.
But luck was not on his side this summer, his very first match was a major letdown. Not only was his contribution barely on the board but when it came to actually swinging his bat on the pitch his focus was wavered, there was a blackness present in front of him. As a result he couldn't last long in the game.
The same coaches who once, looked at him with a proud glint in their eyes were now turned down on him there was a wave of disappointment in the air, he could feel it.
Over the days, he had over-worked himself. To appear as a perfect blend of grace and technique. But what was the over-come? he barely managed to get pass an over.
After that day's match, his coach told him, "you are going hard on yourself, the key is to not to over-work. It's practice, patience and focus"
Tilak had imprinted his words in the back of his mind, he had relaxed himself then. juggling between hours of intense practice and then a few private clubs with his mates. he could feel that his life was back on the track, now tomorrow's match with GT was his golden chance to prove himself and he will, his intuition had sparked him the confidence.
He had a pre-match ritual to watch a movie, today he had chosen dhurandar, Ishaan sat beside him while his manager was adjacent to him. The movie had taken an intensive roll now focusing on a fresh face that had newly debuted in bollywood.
Her eyes were a mesmerizing melody of syllables, the type that rolled you in their alluring charm, tilak couldn't help but notice the extensive features of her face. The contours were highlighting her cheekbones. A very subtle look that was carried with the curly locks of her hair, one that made him drown further in her beauty.
",she is pretty" he let out, his eyes still remained on the screen.
Ishaan and his manager looked at him the moment he said those words, exchanging a glance with each other before his manager asked him.
"So is something going on that we are not aware of? "
That made him look at them, dumbfoundedly.
He huffed, "just because I called her pretty, it doesn't mean something is going on c'mon I thought you knew better than that".
Ishaan gave him a confused look, while his manager narrowed his eyes.
"So you are telling me, you are not the one who followed her on instagram last night and liked all of her recent posts?"
Tilak looked at him with utter confusion plastered on his face, the bite of rajma chawal he was supposed to eat hanged in the mid-air as he finally turned to look at his manager.
"The fuck do you mean?" He questioned, his voice now agitated with precision.
"Abey gadhe, tu kal usko stalk kar raha tha woh sabko pata chal gaya hai," Ishaan smacked his thighs, shoving his phone screen on Tilak's face, showing him the result of his last night activity. (idiot, everyone knows that you have been stalking her, yesterday)
It was Naisha's main account, with the statement saying.

Then Ishaan further scrolled from all of her recent posts with his likes present on each of them, Tilak let down the fork on table, the fusion of a steel silverware on the plate of glass made a soft clink, snatching the phone from his friend's grip, his eyes carried an intense look as he scanned his last night activities.
He had liked 20 of her posts, when he scrolled past her comments it was filled with the chants of his names, most of them loving this interaction while some of them hating it.
Tilak tried to think about last night, he was utterly drunk after hitting a few clubs before midnight. That's when his memories came back flooding in.
He was sulked up on his couch last night after coming back home, his mind was a playful place. His phone was in his hand as he scrolled through his instagram, he was in his private account unaware it was monitored by many people indeed.
He fell upon a pretty striking profile, the girl seemed to carry a charm that wrapped him around her fingers. he blushed like a teenage boy seeing his crush for the first time as he scrolled through her account, after looking at her posts, he gave her a follow not thinking much of it and let the phone fall on his chest as sleep graced his eyes.
Tilak snapped out of his flashback as the memory of last night ended, he calmed his posture as he passed down the phone to Ishaan. He turned to his plate and began eating the remaining food as if nothing had happened.
Ishaan raised his eyebrows at his friend's antics.
"People on Reddit subs noticed this interaction as the first thing in the morning, they have been buzzing ever since that something is going on between you guys"
His manager spoke out, simultaneously checking on his tablet on then on Tilak who seemed unfazed by all of this verdicts going around. his focus was on the girl on his tv screen.
"Tilak...?" his Manager voices out, expecting for him to react and come out of his mask of nonchalance.
He clicked his tongue, forcing himself to look at his manager.
"kya tumhe lagta hai mujhe inn sab cheezo ka pharak padta hai?" he continues "log baatein banayege chaar din ke liye aur phir bhul jayenge" (do you think I care about these stupid shipping posts? - people will talk about it for a few days and then forget about it)
"I want my focus intact on the game and field I already have incurred many losses this season so I don't really have time to focus on any thing else but my game"
He turned to look at the screen again, the girl was fading away from the particular scene now grazing her steps towards a car, while looking at the male lead of the movie.
"Waise bhi I would never really go out with a bollywood actresses that industry is pretty complex for me, it's full of fake PR relationships and looking at her she seems like those rich kids of bollywood" He says, his eyes remain on the screen inspecting Naisha's every moment in the scene.
Ishaan lets out a chuckle, "aankhein nahi hata pa raha apni screen par se aur bhashan de raha hai, 'i would never date her'" he mocked the last part in tilak's hoarse voice.
In a response, he just rolled his eyes giving him a sarcastic remark "I was under the influence of alcohol, after tomorrow's match I will unfollow her and it's sorted, and I just know tomorrow will turn out to be a lucky day for me"
