Wrt my tags on that last poll I reblogged, now I'm thinking about Dean, post-Garth hook up, going around to all his friends/frenemies for advice of how to make Garth fall in love with him (bc he wants to be the Cool Guy who lets the other guy down gently) and he brings Garth along (to prove that he's chill about their hook up and is fine and normal actually). And Garth ends up having love affairs with all of them. Garth-Jody-Donna threesome where he helps them work out their feelings for each other. Garth-Victor where Dean has to drag Garth out of there immediately bc Victor is showing signs of becoming obsessed in the same way Dean is. ALMOST NEARLY SO CLOSE TO Garth-Cas but Dean manages to intervene. Garth-Pamela. I'm just listing names at this point. It happens.

Garth always cooks eggs for them the day after, whistling, which is what clues Dean in to a lot of them, so they have a lot of Dean saying HOW AND WHO and Garth shrugs easily, 'you can't keep the beast in it's cage 😊'

Garth eventually calls him out on it and is like 'Dean our time together was very special. I'm sorry if me being a stone cold stud is hurting your feelings :(' and Dean's lile 'no, no don't apologise, it's just....when people start to walk away I have to cling on tighter or I'll never see them again. If I could get you to fall for me then I could make you stick around.' And Garth's like 'what about all those fine folks we road tripped around who showed up for you when you dropped in with a problem? Seems like you've got more friends than you think.'

Next morning Dean sleeps in from being emotionally drained and gets a knock on the door - Garth comes in with a breakfast tray just for him as friends, and they share it ❤

(I mean the guy like, he KNOWS he’s kind of awkward but like he OWNS it and he’s got this confident sexuality about him and he goes skinny dipping and has lady friends and on the show it’s kind of played like ‘haha look at this weirdo thinking he can get women’ but NO. No he CAN get women. And men and literally anyone he wants he has the Garth charm and that boy knows how to work it. And even if DEAN is only fake-confident in the bedroom Garth knows how to get past the facade and Dean would get a lil vulnerable and clingy and Garth would hold him through it and fuck him harder :D)

So Garth wants Dean to be the little spoon cause he like, senses that Dean would probably enjoy being the little spoon, and Dean gets all huffy about it because ‘what the fuck Garth that’s weird being the little spoon is weird’ 

And Garth kind of lets him have it.

“I already know that’s what you think about me Dean, you don’t have to rub it in.”

“What? Garth no I--”

“No let me say my piece. You think I’m weird, and that’s ok. You’re a lot nicer about it than most folks anyways. You don’t even see me as a pity fuck which is pretty cool. You think I don’t know, Dean, what people say about me? They think cause I don’t react to it that I’m dumb or slow or just too naive to get it but I’m not. I’m weird. I can’t drink more than a beer without getting drunk, I wear texas ranger costumes and go skinny dipping and use sock puppets and hug everybody, and I have this thing about fish. I look weird and I talk weird and I am weird. And most people aren’t...big fans of that. Growing up was hell, and I say that knowing you’ve been to hell and it was still hell. And being an adult--we’re the same age you know that right?--people don’t talk to my face anymore but that doesn’t mean I can’t hear them. But you know what I learned Dean?”

Dean shakes his head. 

“This life, hunting. It’s short and miserable and it always ends bloody. I saw it with Bobby, hell, I’ve seen it with you and Sam. You maybe do a little good for a few people and then you die and no one remembers you. So what I figure is you gotta be happy while you’re here, you gotta do stuff that makes you happy, even if every other person on the planet thinks it’s weird. If heaven really is all your best memories don’t you wanna have some good ones when you get there? So yeah I’m weird, yeah I know people don’t like it, and no I don’t care. It’s their hangup not mine. I’m not gonna deny myself happiness just to make some person more comfortable.” Garth starts to lose his wind. “And. And you shouldn’t either. So there.” 

Dean kisses Garth until the righteous fury melts into confused concern. 

“Ok.”

“Ok?”

“Yeah. Maybe I do sometimes think you’re weird, but I’m pretty damn weird too. So let’s be weird together. Fuck everybody else.”

Garth gives him a big genuine smile, and Dean feels all warm and kind of ridiculous but if Garth can own it why can’t he? Eventually though the severity of the chick flick moment means Dean has to say something. He’s gonna have to take this ‘being weird’ thing in stages. Baby steps.

“Ok ok, shut up and hold me already.” 

Garth mentions that he hadn’t been saying anything, the little shit, but obliges. Dean relaxes into his arms and it’s good. A little weird, but it’s good. 

Just before Dean falls asleep, one more thing occurs to him.

“I still fucking hate Mr. Fizzles.” 

Garth just snorts a laugh into the the back of Dean’s neck.

I feel like if Garth and Dean started dating Dean would quit drinking

not because his life was less shit (although the steady relationship helps) 

but more because Garth “I drank a whole beer’ Fitzgerald IV would be COMPLETELY convinced that he could/should keep up with Dean drink for drink and Dean would sort of start instinctively drinking less in order to lessen the amount and severity of Garth’s hangovers

Garth discovering that his new werewolf strength means he can basically pick Dean up and haul him around like he’s nothing and he takes GREAT advantage of this much to Dean’s dismay
