I was tagged by deadletterpoets to post 6 facts about myself and then send this to 10 5 of my favorite followers. Thank you so much!
Here we go!
1. I wear glasses - didn’t even have to erase this one :)
2. I live in Michigan
3. I can play the trumpet, trombone, baritone (which is basically the two comined honestly), and the french horn. i can play the trombone while reading trumpet music and vice versa.
4. I am currently watching a movie from 1942 in which the audio is, at times, not the greatest and there are no subtitles available.
5. I have seen Twenty One Pilots in concert four times (five if you count an acoustic preshow set at a separate location)
6. Sometimes I’m not even hungry but I’m in the mood for hot sauce so I have to find something (anything) it could go on just to satisfy the craving.
Only tagging 5 because I’m lazy??? @garykingoftheworld @jamesfactscalvin @gaiagalit @goldensnidgets @quinn-bear
Ten and Ten
Was tagged by daleknowhere. Thanks for that. I REALLY enjoyed giving thought to all of this...
1. Do you believe time travel is possible?
I think time travel into the future is all but a scientific fact--at least in theory. Travel into the past? I don’t know... seems less likely.
2. Have you ever been out of the country, and if so where?
Alas, no. Though a trip to the UK is on my bucket list.
3. What movie genre do you like the most?
SF, easily.
4. Do you say soda or pop.
You’ve actually just hit upon a pet peeve of mine...
*ahem*
POP IS A GENRE OF MUSIC, DAMMIT! If it’s a liquid that you consume, it is either soda or coke (with a lowercase ‘c’.)
5. Tell us one of the best compliments you’ve ever received.
Recently, I’ve had someone whose work I’ve been a fan of for ages now say to me, “you really are the best fan ever.” As much joy as her hard work has brought me over the years. as many great memories its given me, to even pay a measure of that back to her is a great feeling.
6. DC or Marvel, or other if you so wish.
I like both, but I’m probably MORE of a DC person...
7. Most eye-opening experience.
For a time in high school, I had a friend named Bobby. He graduated my sophomore year--that summer, after he got a car, he decided to come over to visit me at Grandma’s. I made sure she knew to expect company, and sure enough, he showed up a little time later. Ever versed in the arts of Southern Politeness [TM], she was very cordial and welcoming while he was there... but as soon as the door, she turned around and, horrified, asked, “Why didn’t you WARN me?”
I honestly had absolutely NO idea what she was talking about, and tried to figure out what she meant, until she finally exclaimed, “... that he’s BLACK!”
Now, my grandmother was born in the South in... 1915? It would have beggared believe for her to emerge from a background like that WITHOUT racist tendencies. And I’d certainly seen them, and seen my mother deftly lampoon her for them without her even realizing. But in my youthful innocence and naivity... I had to use the phrase “I never saw him as black” but it honestly NEVER factored into my thinking. He was my friend. Simple as.
8. If you could pick any event to add to the Olympics, what would it be?
Competitive liveblogging.
9. If you had to start over in a witness protection program, what would you want your name to be (it can be as abnormal or as normal as you would want it to be)?
Warren Daniels.
10. Have you ever been completely infatuated with someone based solely on their appearance.
COMPLETELY infatuated? Based SOLELY on their appearance? ... I’m gonna have to say no, Bob.
Y’know, the more I read and the more I learn, the more I think I identify as demi. Demiromantic, absolutely. I’ve ZERO doubt about that. I still hesitate to embrace demisexual, because I DO NOT want to appropriate a label that doesn’t actually apply to me. But I’m not so sure it doesn’t...

1) Firefox or Chrome?
2) What was your first fandom?
3) What was your first fandom crush?
4) Everyone asks where do you see yourself in five years? Where do you see yourself in TWENTY-five years?
5) You have one do-over: the ability to go back in time to one moment in your life, and choose the road not taken. What it is, and what do you do instead?
6) You get the opportunity to pitch your very own tv series/movie/book/comic. Who’s your protagonist? What sort of abilities does s/he have? What’s their story?
7) Are you the person you thought you would grow up to be?
8) You can live in the universe of one of your fandoms--which is it, and what is your role? Away from the front lines? Or in on the action?
9) “First Contact”--does it happen? And if so, when?
10) Everyone’s rebooting properties these days. What currently dormant franchise or property would YOU opt to resurrect, given the opportunity?

Happy Birthday!
ayyy thanks man!!
I once dropped my end of a log my cousin and I were trying to move, and when it hit the ground it bounced back up and hit me right on the clit.
Honestly, I’d rather get bitten on the eyelid by another mosquito than have THAT happen again.

anyway I came home from seeing Tomorrowland a while ago, and it was really good! Very different from Mad Max of course (though oddly similar in a way, since both movies involve improving society through confronting the Man Keeping Everyone Down and removing the source of his power...) but I enjoyed it! I loved how at the end they showed a bunch of people of different genders and ages and ethnicities coming together to save the world, that was really nice. :)
I also think people making jokes about how George Clooney wants to “fuck the robot” are being pretty gross, there was nothing like that going on in this movie. Clooney’s character has some hang-ups and tangled emotions that are centered around Athena, and he definitely had a crush on her when he was a kid, but I saw no indication that there was anything romantic, much less sexual, about the relationship they had in the present day, or the relationships Clooney had with her successors. Like, come on people. It’s a Disney movie for pre-teens. If you want to know what their interactions really made me think of, it made me think of the beginning of Citizen Kane where Orson Welles’ character whispers the name of his sled, because it symbolized that idealized time in his life when he was carefree and happy before it all came crashing down. Only in Tomorrowland, Rosebud has agency too, and its own plans for how things will turn out.
