The Embassy described the 84-year-old Imam as a “peace builder” who put his “faith into action” by securing the lives of people of other religions. . . “I hid the women in my personal house and after that, I took the men into the mosque and hid them there,” he said. However, the assailants caught up with the Imam, forcefully demanding that he release those who were Christians in the mosque. Police confirm 86 dead* in Plateau attack*, 50 houses burnt* The Plateau state police command says it has so far confirmed 86 persons dead* in the shooting* carried out by suspected* herdsmen* in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The spokesperson of the state command, Mathias Tyopev, said asides the 86 persons killed*, six persons were injured* while 50 houses were burnt*. 'The figure that we have now is that 86 people lost* their lives in the attack*, six people injured*, 50 houses burnt* 15 motorcycles and 12 vehicles were burnt* in the attack*. ” Tyiopev told Channels TV.
