BIOGRAPHY
Contrary to popular belief, Gaston wasn’t born into much. In a stroke of luck, he managed to befriend the son of one of the most influential and richest men in town. LeFou was actually the one to pay for everything Gaston had, making people think Gaston came from a wealthy family. He had the looks and the confidence so nobody ever questioned him. They thought LeFou was the one riding his coattails, not the other way around.
Never wanting to be defined by poverty or to sink into it, Gaston did every leisurely thing a man with money could do. He spent most of his time hunting, displaying all of his kills all over the local saloon. He gained his own wealth eventually because he was an excellent gambler. He had plenty of charm and became used to getting everything he wanted. The entire town knew him, mostly feared him, and only a select few liked or respected him.
After going through all the women in town, he found one woman who completely rebuffed his advances. Her rejection drove him insane and, of course, made her a must-have. Everyone knew her father was a hopeless gambler and drunk, and so the plan was easily put into place for him to swindle her father out of his daughte. He wasn’t expecting Belle to run. He also didn’t expect the thing that guarded her once he finally tracked her down. He went back home to sulk, and didn’t know how much longer it was when the world started to fall. LeFou dragged him out of his house and forced him into the new world. In order to find Belle, and because he was good at it, he became a bounty hunter. He’s flourishing, he’s... well, he’s here and that’s something.
BIO UPDATE
When he located Belle in Fableton, Gaston reminded her of the debt between them and what would happen to her father if she failed to follow through. They were married, but Belle clearly had no intention of fulfilling all her roles as a wife. She blamed him for his affair, and he reluctantly signed the divorce papers. While he'd never admit it, her rejection shook his confidence in himself and sent him into a bit of a depression. Surprisingly, it was Belle herself who helped him through this, and they've maintained a tenuous friendship ever since.
CONNECTIONS
Olivier Lefou: He hardly notices the little man, except perhaps when he wants something. Lefou has been the one to keep him alive and in money this long, but he still regards him as little more than a servant.
Belle Bernette: He still loves her, or rather, loves her beauty. She is truly the most wonderful woman in town, in his opinion, and he would do anything to have her.
ALTERNATE FACECLAIM: Nathan Fillion
