They were sitting in the basement, game map on the table in front of them, a host of miniatures set off to the side. Mike’s game journal sat on the corner, filled to the brim with notes and character sheets, and on top of it his trusty rule book, ripped and torn with use. “You roll it, and it randomly picks a number.” He handed it over to her, placing it gently in her hand. “You try!”
