PENNY WARS | Thursday Totals
Everyone fought to bring down the Senior class today, there were so many quarters we could have opened our own bank! But it just doesn't seem to be enough to bring down the powerhouse -- they're still leading by 6000 points! Can the Freshman manage to find enough loose change in their parents' couch cushions to get the win tomorrow?
PENNY WARS | Wednesday Totals
The battle is on but the Seniors are not going down without a fight! There were silver coins everywhere today (especially the Juniors), and a flurry of big bills tossed at the Senior jar! Did every Stonegate kid ask for an advance on their allowance this week? Looks like the Class of 2015 did for sure -- either that or they're spending all their prom money!
PENNY WARS | Tuesday Totals
Who would have guessed that the Seniors didn't like being at the bottom of the food chain? They came back with a vengeance and hard today, knocking all the classes below them down to size! But the Freshmen are still fighting hard for the win, with the Sophomores not too far behind.
PENNY WARS | Monday Totals
The sophomores are taking an early lead in this year's penny wars! And everyone seems to have it out for the seniors! Will the class of 2015 dominate like the seniors did last year, or will this be the year that 2017 comes out on top?
PENNY WARS | All week during lunch!
Earn money for your class by donating your loose change! Jars will be set out during lunch for each graduating class, as a chance to fundraise money for class activities (like prom). At the end of the week, the class with the most points will receive the money collected across all of the jars!
HOW IT WORKS
Donating a penny will add 5 points to the jar. All paper money will also be additive ($1 bill adds 100 points, $5 bill will add 500 points, $10 adds 1000 points, etc.). A silver coin will take away its face value (e.g. a nickel will take away 5 points, a quarter will take away 25). Any student can put money in any jar.
Points for the spirit trophy will be awarded as follows: 1ST PLACE 150 points 2ND PLACE 75 points 3RD PLACE 60 points 4TH PLACE 25 points
OOC INFORMATION
To participate, message the homecoming blog with the amount your character is donating.
Be specific — if they’re donating $4.00, make sure to tell us if it’s all pennies, some quarters, etc. and what jar it goes in!
For anyone not familiar with US currency, here's a link to learn more about our coin system, and here's another one for our paper money currently in circulation. Half dollars, silver dollar coins, and $2 bills are rare, so use that knowledge accordingly! It would also be pretty unlikely for a high school student to have a $50 or $100 bill in their wallet.
Your character can donate as many times as you want during the week, but please be realistic!
Here’s an example ask: “Auden’s donating $3 in bills to the junior class. $2 all in quarters to the sophomore class, and 5 pennies to the freshman class.”
