I have no experience or knowledge in building a structure, but you know, I'm planning to build a cob house and if m*n can do it how hard can it be? I forced myself to sit thru some videos of males building simple things just to get some basic info. (It's literally ridiculous how catered to m*n these are, I feel almost like a spy stealing the info that was never meant for me)
This is what I picked up on my first 30 minutes!
Foundations need to be dug out not only to make the whole thing "stable" as I previously thought, it's to protect from water damage. You need good drainage under your structure so the moist soil never touches your floor or your walls, otherwise you will have mold and rain digging into your building. That's why you cover the ground in rocks; water will seep thru them and never make any problems for your structure.
Lifting the floor from ground level is also water protection. Seems like rain is your biggest problem when building a shelter.
If you're making a basement you need to make sure water can't get in. If it can, you will have a flooded basement.
making the foundations level is a lot of work. Like, to the point where I wonder if I really need a house that's completely level. Also I do not wanna buy a level, I can just use a long rectangular bottle that is marked with a line down the middle and some water. Why does everyone buy a level.
Apparently m*n can't do anything without bunch of machines and cement. they also make the simples things sound like you have to be very smart to get it and they refuse to read instructions.
m*n call their machines "toys" to amplify that big toddler energy. you know, its too complicated for a woman to use but for a giant toddler, thats a "toy"
they also refuse to wear any safety gear??? and when called out will go for even more dangerous practices to show how safety gear is "stupid". I think maybe m*n shouldn't be allowed to go into construction? its bad for them and their brain is not developed enough
roofs are harder to build and put up than anything else
all you need to understand in order to build is how the weight is being distributed thru the structure and make sure all the weight is being supported properly
this m*n I'm watching, who claims to be a professional, is trying to convince everyone, that nailing in a screw, and screwing it in, is absolutely the same thing. I... apparently thats how knowledgeable you have to be to be a pro if ur male... smash that screw thru the wood and ur success
if anyone ever thought building is in any way intimidating please remember this and know that if that male could have built a thing then you certainly can do it too.
