As I told you in my previous post, I'm going to tell you more about El Hombre Gato
This is going to be long..
This legend begins on August 5, 1984, in the town of Coronel Brandsen, Buenos Aires. With the news that a girl (anonymous) was attacked at night by a masked man with metal claws and who meowed like a cat. Since that day, neighbors have reported hearing horrible meows and scratching at the doors of their homes at night. They also said they had seen a tall man passing through the roofs with incredible agility.
The police did not give it importance at first, but the attacks continued, El hombre gato attacked anyone who walked on the street at night, hurting them with his artificial claws and then run away, without stealing or killing.
At first, Crónica called him "El gato Montes." But Diario Popular renamed him "El hombre gato" (The Cat Man) Which was the name that became most popular.
People no longer went out at night. Neighbors organized to hunt the catman, and their paranoia became so great that any young, athletic man in Brandsen became a target of suspicion.
The cat soon appeared in other towns and provinces. And with this, more versions about the feline appeared. But there was one thing that everyone seemed to agree on, that there was no longer just one. It was several cat men who organized themselves to meow loudly and scratch at doors. Now fear seemed to reach a collective psychosis.
Everything came to a head when a little girl was reported to have sustained significant injuries and two men were killed. Although the veracity of this report was never confirmed, It was enough to trigger panic and force the police to take more serious measures.
(And there's more Blah Blah, but in short, fake news about El hombre gato having been captured.)
The last mega-operation of which there is any record occurred at the end of February 1985, where the cat man was last seen. El hombre gato vanished as quickly as he had appeared. Never being caught and leaving the eternal doubt of his identity.
As you can see, there isn't much talk about it being a real werecat. But for Gatuel's Lore, I have my own version(? Where they are real werecats.
(If you ask me, I think this whole case was nothing more than fake news driven by mass psychosis.)
I leave you here some media about the case👇
