Do you guys like... not learn internet safety anymore in school or at home? Not in the way of "oh don't talk to anyone online everyone's a predator", but in the sense of "don't give out your personal information online because you don't know who can see it"
I've been seeing a frankly disturbing trend of kids putting like everything about themselves out on the internet, whether it's in their carrds, rentrys, or just their bio. It's so fucking scary to see kids give out their locations, age, names, and even their fucking triggers?? Genuinely do you not see how dangerous it is to make that information public? I know it's fun to make friends online, especially with the pandemic having killed a lot of available socialization, but please please realize that information could be used against you by trolls or even people who just dislike you... Even putting your age in your bio if you're a minor can be dangerous, i saw a fucking 11yo in my twitter notifications the other day, and I've seen 12-13yos on here... I understand wanting to meet people in your age group, but I feel it's best to keep it to just stating you're a minor at most... It's so fucking concerning to me every time I see it i get so worried...
I'd say it's gotten a lot worse because of the pandemic, but even before that there was still a trend of people putting their personal information online for everyone to see. Please please please be aware that you don't need to share every aspect of yourself online for people to like you, it's perfectly okay to keep that private!! In fact I wholeheartedly recommend it!!
