"Don’t touch me."
The words make him freeze dead in his tracks.
Hands pause in mid-air and Ray almost puts his hand on Gavin's shoulder, but he lets them fall. The moment is tense, and Ray wants to ask why but he's too scared. Wringing his hands, he finally finds what he wants to say. "Gavin, what happened?"
His mouth shuts but he knows he can't just stop there. Or, maybe he should, in order to allow Gavin some 'calming down' time.
Everything was confusing and it took a while for Ray to push back any fear to speak once more.
"What did I do? I-I," he laughs weakly but the noise sounds wrong in this situation. "I just wanted to hold you."
