Gavis trained long and hard before he began his Search. Something deep inside him told him the Charge he was to guard would need everything he had, and he wanted to be ready. Imagine his surprise when he set eyes on one of the smallest dragons he’d ever seen, and the bond snapped into place!

Aveira, even her name, feels soothing to her. It wasn’t long before he learned how to read her emotions, though he never did take to magic. He’d tried his hand at it, wanting to connect with her using something so important to her, but Wei quickly kicked him out of their workshop. He now bemusedly listens to Aveira as she infodumps about whatever new ability she’d unlocked, and he gathers herbs and materials for her as needed.

Their life is idyllic, and they’ve even raised a few hatchlings together. Still, something feels unsettled to him. Why had he been so driven to train as a warrior if their life and clan were so peaceful?
