what’s one character or group from SLARPG that you weren’t expecting to be as popular as they are?

I would say Harmony, but... no, I knew what I was doing there lmao. I'm not surprised she has her fans. She may be a parasitic manifestation of Melody's inner self-loathing who only appears in three scenes, but she's also Evil Goth Melody. She's hot. I know she's hot. I designed her to be hot. I simply could not resist the opportunity to use that sort of design somewhere

Beyond her, I'm not really sure! It's mostly the main cast I see a lot of love for, which makes sense. I'm not sure there are any minor supporting characters who randomly blew up

I guess there are a few major characters who I worried people wouldn't like as much as I do, and I was glad to see people liked them after all. I'm glad people like Zinnia a lot. She's very obviously one of my pet characters, and I'm glad she left an impression on people even though she doesn't have a ton of screentime. I'm also relieved that people came out the other side of the game still loving Claire, since it's VERY easy for people to find characters like her annoying or unworthy of forgiveness. And when so much of the emotional arc of the game hinges on Claire, that can become a source of stress lol

There are also a few supporting characters who I think are really great that I'm surprised have seen less of a response from the audience, but I can't really complain. Like, yeah, there are a few NPCs I would love to see more fanart of, but for a smalltime dev in my position it's a miracle that ANY of my game's characters have gotten as much fanart as they've gotten

What are your thoughts on Bonerattle Arena? Or Side Order? Or Riot Act? Or just this season of Splatoon 3 as a whole

im working on clearing out the prlz store. i just have to to take breaks bc it turns out i forget to blink during levels. this tires my eyes after 2 runs. edit: successfully cleared out prlz store.

interesting note, i can do full clears of Side Order in a similar amount of time as Hades runs! each full run is about 30 minutes, i wonder if thats normal for rougelites i really should play more of them

overall i've been having just an IMMENSE amount of fun with Side Order and it makes me wanna both play more splatoon and more roguelites in general. once i have a computer up and running, i really wanna get back to playing warframe so i can mess with the roguelite mode they put in there, i think that'll help me get back into it. edit: COMPUTER BUILT AND RUNNING but i think i gotta do other changes so i can like, get back to streaming bc i'm running into issues with the OS we had on hand

there's a lot of fun stuff this season in splatoon! iunno if i have much meaningful to say about it all?? i frankly mostly play salmon run and now side order so the whole. rest of the game i have to be really hankering to play it or with friends.

Do they all have a favorite infamous supervillain they aspire to surpass in The Evil Pecking Order one day?

not a supervillain, exactly, save for maybe Minnie, who wants to surpass Buck specifically. both Davey and Buck are in the supervillain game more for survival than they are notoriety or rising the ranks - buck wants to surpass his own dad and/or brother on the superhero side, but not any supervillians specifically. (as a tangentially related answer, the most notorious supervillain I've written in at present is probably actually Nemo's yet-to-be-named dad, who was much more a "multiversal cataclysm" level supervillain before his forced retirement many years ago.)

If Buck was the boss of a pokeyman evil team (Team Bulkhead perhaps) what kind of boss would he be like? Or if he just generally had the means to be an actual ringleader, do you think he’d do a good job as a Big Bad?

the thing about Buck as a Pokemon team boss is that he would be like a Guzma with even less motivation. Buck has no world-ending ambitions like your average Pokemon evil team leader. He's not even a Giovanni-like where he's just doing organized crime. Buck is just trying to steal enough to get by and be left alone. He doesn't have the charisma or leadership to assemble and retain Mooks (niece and long-term boyfriend don't count as mooks they just live here) and I can't imagine him being a particularly spectacular trainer either. 2/10 obvious fakeout antagonist in prerelease material you KNOW you're actually gonna fight his brother at the endgame instead just look at him. (as for the others - Davey has it in him to be a highly accomplished wrong-thing-for-the-right-reasons Guzma-style evil team leader; Minnie i think has more Rude Rival Who Reluctantly Befriends You energy, ie bede.)
