how bout gawain for the blorbo bingo?
you really know the way to my heart!
he's soooo. he's a theater kid. he killed hundreds. he's pathetically in love with lancelot. he loves to lie. he's honorable. he'll fuck your wife. he's a rapist (knight of the sword*). he respects women (the marriage of dame ragnelle). he's silly
"Writers dropped the ball" is a complicated one: because medieval romances spanned so much of history and so many areas, translated and through word of mouth, with a bajillion different authors, obviously interpretations vary and change over time. He starts off as the noblest of knights, and then becomes more and more skeevy for the author to show how cool this other knight is, until gawain's a "noble knight" in name only. Every story is a new gawain to get to know! My interpretation, as per usual, lands somewhere in the middle. he's not, like, a good person, but he's at least making a half assed effort about it. sometimes. unfortunately he REALLY loves to cause problems
imo the only True Bitch Knight is sir Kay. tutorial npc you have to beat up to get into camelot is a bitter bitch who's fun to take down a notch
*admittedly in this one he did not rape because he got scared. but he was clearly thinking about it and was about to do it.
