my grandma died a while back so i dont think theres any point in learning a native language if the people i could speak it with are dead. i live here, it would be more functional to learn navajo than gaelic.
I think the best foreign language for someone to learn is the one you're most likely to stick with. I'd never talk someone out of broadening their linguistic horizons. Learning Navajo sounds awesome. Learning Irish or Scots Gaelic would also be awesome (and if you pick up the former you could always message me and we can stumble through our cúpla focal together). Learn as many languages as you can. Connect with people. It whips ass.
