Why I’ve Been Absent from Posting

I want to explain my absence here. For the past weeks, my family and I have been facing yet another forced displacement — this time leaving Gaza City after heavy threats of a full occupation and siege.

This is not our first time; it is our 10th displacement. Each time, we start from nothing again, carrying only what we can. But this time, the psychological exhaustion and financial burden have been overwhelming. Leaving our shelter and trying to survive under impossible conditions has drained us.

During the last days in Gaza City, shrapnel and bullets reached us directly. We survived by the grace of God, escaping what could have been certain death, while surrounded by violent airstrikes and even remote-controlled explosive robots.

We are alive — but carrying deep scars of fear, trauma, and endless uncertainty. The silence here wasn’t because we forgot, but because survival has taken every ounce of strength.

Hello, I’m Bilal From Gaza 🫂

At the onset of the conflict, my family and I were forced to leave our home in the northern part of Gaza and move to the south, seeking temporary safety. However, as the situation worsened, we eventually had to flee Gaza altogether. After 150 days of intense struggle, we found ourselves in Egypt, hoping for a new beginning, but the challenges here have been overwhelming. 😔

In Egypt, we face difficulties without residency and deal with high living costs. Each day presents new obstacles, from securing stable housing to navigating the complexities of life in a new country. The weight of these challenges often feels insurmountable. 😓

The distance from our loved ones in Gaza is a constant source of pain. Every call with family back home reminds us of how much we miss them and how far we are from home. The longing for Gaza is a deep ache, but we hold onto the hope that one day we will return and rebuild our lives in peace. 🌟

Despite our best efforts to adapt, we are in desperate need of support. Even a small donation can make a significant difference, helping us secure stable housing and providing hope during these trying times.

Islam, a physical therapist, 27-year-old from Gaza, is currently sleeping on the streets without any form of shelter or safety for himself and his family of 6 including his 85 years old grandfather who lost a hand from a prior Israeli bombing, and is barely able to perform everyday tasks due to a lack of clean water to wash his hand with. Their home was demolished by a bombing from the Israeli occupation. While shelter is crucial, they also urgently need food and water. All of their necessities were taken away.

Islam's blog has been restricted for the third time. He tried sharing a donation link, but with limited followers, it wasn't reaching enough people. Thankfully, he created a GoFundMe account, making it easier for those who want to help, but he is still extremely low on funds.
