I genuinely believe that a decent part of why Abolish and Scott scared their enemies so much (vampires and humans respectively), outside of their PvP skills, was because of how nonchalant/apathetic they both sound at all times.

An example of Abolish being when Drift encountered him while burning down the woods and he just told her she should leave while surrounded by fire. Plus, with Shelby when he calmly killed her through insanely strategic and thought-out means, while she was freaking out and practically begging for her life, then immediately starting on Scott. All while he was talking to them completely calmly.

An example for Scott is when he let Apo kill him, he didn't fight back, he didn't freak out then, he came back after dying, he came back repeatedly all while calmly talking to Apo every time he came back until they gave up trying. Plus, whenever he was attacked no matter where he reacted like it was more of an inconvenience than anything else.

Abolish and Scott's complete apathy towards violence of any kind (against them or others) is part of what makes them so terrifying to others. Because you only become that apathetic to constant life or death scenarios for you and others if you're confident you'll survive or you've experienced them a lot before, and they're both. They're confident in their skills, used to life-threatening situations and not scared to kill someone to save themselves which makes them both terrifying and dangerous.

Shelby and Avid's relationship is so interesting to me. The vampire hunter and his friend who became one. The betrayal they both felt due to each other.

Avid who became friends with Shelby, one of the only people who didn't treat him like he was crazy. The one who listened to him talk about vampires. Only to become just like his dead friend, a vampire, a monster, just like her. The one who supported him only to refuse to come back, to have zero interest, even fake, in going back to town. Him burning down her house in grief after being rejected by her. Him still holding out hope that she will come back to them, to him.

Shelby being turned and coming back to town to see Avid building a jail cell for vampires. Her immediate reaction to seeing Avid being to back up, to get ready to run. Shelby who was gossiped about back home. Who was betrayed by those she trusted most, including Avid. Who had to listen to her friend talk about how vampires are just monsters that must be killed. Who only has the vampires to turn to for family/friendship/comfort. The vampires who turned her, the ones telling her about how town members are attacking them on sight, how the town's people can't be trusted. Her having to see her house burned down/destroyed after being told she could come back. Her likely thinking he was trying to trick her, likely feeling even more betrayed.

The two who only really trusted each other and their roommates in the town. The two that only had each other to talk about their 'crazy' theories with. The two that had to relive past trauma through the other. The two who, from their own povs, are being unfairly treated/betrayed by the other but are completely justified from their own.

I need to talk about the fact that Tango's deaths to become red were specialized to make him into a spectacle, to ensure the others would watch it happen. The anvils to wither to lightning feels so intentional in what happened, how it affected Tango and how it affected the others watching.

The anvils were simultaneously Tango's only chance to take anyone out with him and a way to gain attention. The anvils were first so he had less time to adapt and recognize that it was a chance to take out someone else with him. Plus, after realizing, it would definitely lower his morale quite a bit at best, and cause a whole slew of negative emotions at worst. And it was also a way for the rest of the server that wasn't there to be alerted to what was happening so they'd come watch. Multiple people went over to watch solely because they saw the anvils falling from the sky. Something so unusual will always draw in those who've seen it.

The wither was a way to both force Tango to accept that he would die again and again until he was red and a way to allow those heading over to get there in time for the finale. The anvils give the feeling that you can run away or escape so long as you just keep running or hide inside so, the wither directly afterwards brings a feeling of defeat and finality due to being unable to stop it no matter where you are. It also took a while for him to die, or at least long enough that anyone who started heading over after they saw the anvils got there in time for the finale.

The lightning was the grand finale. After drawing everyone's attention and giving them time to get there along with, giving Tango hope just to crush it, the lightning ended it in a dramatic and memorable way. The lightning was flashy and caught attention, especially with the sheer magnitude of bolts around them plus it was similar to being struck down by a god. It is a divine punishment for all to see. Even Scar and Bdubs who weren't with the rest recognized the lightning as something divine. A way to finally, truly, show the players the true consequences of failing as the boogeyman.

Tango was but a tool for the Watchers to invoke a greater fear of failing as the boogie in the players. He was used as a simple pawn to not only showcase that there will be no mercy for them if they fail, but also as a way to show that they could take those lives in any way they'd like and there would always be consequences for failure.

Not every roommate duo except Apo and Pyro being loyal to each other.

Avid who sees his friend in Drift and both respects and trusts her. Drift who sees Avid as a strong person and fully respects and trusts him. Avid who kept telling Drift about vampires and tried to keep her safe even when he may have seemed crazy. Drift who listened to Avid and helped him even when she might have thought he sounded crazy. Avid who tells Drift everything. Drift who tells Avid everything.

Scott who, although he says it's more like pet, genuinely enjoys being with Shelby. Shelby who genuinely enjoys being with Scott. Scott who turned Shelby into a vampire by abusing her trust. Shelby who didn't lose trust in him and instead started trusting him more. Scott who after turning Shelby offers her to live with him if she ever needs/wants to. Shelby who originally offered her house to him and was so happy she could keep living with him.

Cleo who was one of the first people to start building their house. Pearl who was the person they made the house with. Cleo who goes out to do things alone/with others more often than not but always comes back to Pearl. Pearl who keeps going out alone but always comes back to Cleo. Cleo who always gets worried when they can't find Pearl. Pearl who always calms Cleo down when she comes back. Cleo whose immediate reaction to being turned into a vampire was to tell those they could trust. Pearl who proved that trust wasn't misplaced by immediately agreeing to keep their secret and offering her help.

And then there's Apo and Pyro. Apo and Pyro who lived together and had a good relationship. Apo and Pyro who stopped being around each other as often very early on. Apo who noticed Pyro was hanging out more with Scott and Owen. Pyro who didn't even think of telling Apo he became a vampire. Apo who was accidentally gave themselves up to the vampires. Pyro who saw Owen offer Apo as food. Apo who tried to negotiate their way out. Pyro who let them try to find someone else to take her place. Apo who decided to sacrifice herself because she didn't want anyone else being hurt. Pyro who wanted to see the sacrifice but came at the wrong time. Apo who still wanted to help the town after being turned. Pyro who immediately abandoned the humans after becoming a vampire. Apo who burned down their house to erase the memories. Pyro who hasn't even tried to go back to living together.

Love everyone talking about how they're charmed by Scott due to his vampire/elder vampire/sire powers. And he's just like. No, I'm just hot and you're being vocal and dumb about it.

I find it so interesting that Legs is pretending to be a vampire while Avid pretends to be a human.

Like, it's pretty obvious that Avid is still refusing to say he's a vampire because he doesn't want to be one. He only became one to avoid dying or becoming a bloodthirsty/feral monster (assumed werewolf) and plans to use the cure to become human as soon as he can.

Whereas Legs, who's not a vampire, has claimed to be one. I don't know the exact reasoning but considering his personality, it's likely because of his position in the town. He's leveraging the trust others have in him to make sure that the people being revealed as vampires don't get targeted or driven out because they all trust him so they won't do it to him.

It's also so interesting to be considering how Legs and Avid are probably the two people who want the cure to work the most. Legs because he wants to help all those who've been turned and Avid (mostly) for his own sake. Which is so interesting because they're also the two who believe the cure will work the most. Everyone else is iffy at best whether it's Cleo who just isn't getting their hopes up or Pyro who's worried about having to kill Scott and possibly having to be killed. Literally everyone else has one reason or another for not fully believing in the cure.

Plus, Cleo clearly being upset with Avid for refusing to admit he's a vampire when given the chance to do so with the rest of them. Which is basically on the complete opposite end of the spectrum to the respect/appreciation they feel for Legs.
