It was always a surprise to meet those that were involved in the Singularity under his care, always a blind guess regarding what they remembered and how they’d react to his presence. It isn’t the first time, it will not be last, and yet the sight of a certain King shook him more than the rest. So he’d simply observed and waited for a reaction he could read. A moment of surprise, a look of recognition. “Gilgamesh.”
And the response he gets is almost enough to make him scoff. How insufferably bold of this King to greet him with amusement, of all things. “It has been too long if you think me the type that’d care about something like that.” Despite himself, he returns the words in kind. There’s an inner pull towards that familiarity, one he had never indulged nor acknowledged.
And it still feels wrong, just as it had back on that hill, but he lets his feet carry him closer to the Caster. “I can’t say I’m surprised to find you here.” He can’t quite make out what he feels at the moment.
