I have had these sugar pine cones for years...ordered them from CA...placed next to a dinner fork so you can really appreciate the size..can’t imagine the tree size that they come from!..this past Wednesday, for the Board Members Luncheon, @gcma_sc , trying to be practical for the flower budget, once again, off to @traderjoes for flowers...I use cubes all the time for events there so pulled these gold cubes out, stuffed a pine cone in the cube, which was great because it eliminated the need for lots of expense in flowers for only one time...stopped by a closed city grocery store parking lot cut gorgeous Nandina berries with some beautiful red foliage attached to the berries..I already had cut greens the previous day...soooo..took about 15 minutes to do these cubes with staff, plus do arrangements for the afternoon Volunteer reception...this time of year the greens one can find and clip really add to the beauty of arrangements plus helps defray costs when your budget is slim. I just love these pine cones..I have some stuffed in the arrangement at my front door, which is not quite finished yet but I’ll post it later so at least one person can boo and coo about it...I’ve been flocking branches and what a mess it has made! #deborahgibsondesign #traderjoes #gcma_sc #sugarpinecones #goldcubes #foragedgreens #flocking https://www.instagram.com/p/B5vCtcpDDTz/?igshid=9m1acrvzygmk
