Why should I bother with GDPR?
Isn't it all a bit of hype?
To be frank and a bit controversially, we think GDPR is a good thing! Surprised? What with all the doom and gloom regarding heavy fines and increased burdens on businesses to put more processes and policies in place, how on earth can GDPR be a good thing, right? Please let us explain and then you can make your mind up.
We believe that amidst all the hype and the scare-mongering, the real message has been drowned out. So here, we call your attention to following points:
GDPR didn’t just stop after May 25th; it is the new benchmark in processing personal data and privacy, changing the way companies do business.
This will include increased certification, public awareness, and expectation. It may not happen overnight, but is inevitable.
Customers and partners will look to fully compliant companies as a first choice when choosing business partners, as GDPR places a responsibility on every business to do the checks.
Being compliant can thus only heighten your trust with existing and prospective customers whether you deal with consumers or other businesses.
Your clients will demand it anyway (as we have emphasised above)! So, don't ignore it and risk losing that contract because you weren't prepared!
Getting your data in order is a good thing anyway, allowing you to make more informed business decisions, and seek out additional sales opportunities.
