Here's some deep vibes.
Here's a demo on something new I have on the go! subject to changes just a outline!
George Wickham: More than meets the eye
So there has been a LOT of stuff going down in the LBD universe and i thought I'd share some of my thoughts (mostly about George)
George has been receiving an insane amount of hate and I do get why. He appears to be manipulating Lydia and has had a bad track record. But really, what do you expect? He keeps being told that he is a life-ruining douchebag and I think he has to be internalising some of that, just look at his recent tweet favourites. So if you keep being told you suck what are you going to expect from yourself and as a result, project outwards?
Plus, a lot of people seem to think Wickham is playing Lydia to get back at Lizzie. He has, after all, hurt people in the past for payback on someone that they are close to. George manipulated Gigi to hurt Darcy and probably to try and milk some money out of him too. Or at least, that's the side of the story we've been told. If completely true, which I doubt, then George is definitely a strategic thinker, I mean he did get what he wanted. But what about with Lydia? Who is he trying to hurt here? Lizzie? It seems unlikely for someone who supposedly thinks so calculatingly. He and Lizzie were really not much more than a fling. And she didn't cause him any pain, whereas Darcy wouldn't give George the money he asked for. So it seems odd that he would be trying to exact some kind of revenge on Lizzie. What about Darcy? He's already gotten what he wanted from him but maybe he holds a grudge. Could he be trying to hurt Lydia, to hurt Lizzie, whom Darcy cares about? It seems a pretty round-about way of doing things. It would have been much easier and much more painful for Darcy if he had manipulated Lizzie, and it's not like he didn't have the chance.
So, I have to conclude that he really is trying with Lydia. She really does seem to see him differently than most, something he has noticed and says is one of the reasons he loves her. Yes, he does look like he's manipulating her, but maybe old habits just die hard and he's afraid that if he's just himself Lydia won't love him. He talks about regretting the mistakes he's made in the past, and maybe he really is being sincere. Or maybe not. But I do think that he's trying with Lydia.
That just leaves the sex tape. I think there is a lot more here than meets the eye and that somehow Lydia and Wickham are in on it together for some unknown reason. But I honestly don't know so I'm not going to speculate.
I guess, just remember that Lydia seems to be really happy. Even if George hurts her, she was and is happy now. So just think of that before you hate tweet George to go away or something.
Also, these people are fictional so HUGE round of applause to Wes Aderhold and Mary Kate Wiles for their amazing acting. And Rachel Kiley for awesome writing and the all the too-many-to-name amazing people who work on the LBD.
God, this is long and there is still so much to say.
PS (sorry for the excessive use of the word really and for not knowing anything about comma placement)
