The Buried Church of Geamana, Romania
In 1986, Geamana village from Romania was a beautiful place in the mountains, with a population of 1000 people. The villagers were moved by Ceausescu’s regime to deposite the toxical waste from a coppermine. All the buildings remained to be covered. Nowadays, just the top of this church could be see out of it. Deep under the church, the entire village is buried in toxical waste.
