Griffin, the Titan King of the Skies!

He is the first Titan introduced into the Gears of War: Twin Dragons series. In this fanfic series' universe, Titans are massive creatures that have slumbered for thousands of years, their origins currently unknown in the series. Most slumber in places where they used to live, while some slumber in places that they have become trapped in. In Griffin's case, he was trapped after a devastating rockslide trapped him in a Grey One temple, now known as the Nexus.

During the Age of Titans, Griffin once flew through the skies and was known as a gentle giant amongst any bird. His behavior mimics that of bald eagles, eating fish and quick with his massive size. He rarely picks fights with other Titans and would rather glide through the air, living among other flying creatures.

During "Blood of Another", Griffin is found trapped in the temple, having been taken care of by the Grey Ones until Queen Myrrah moved her people into the Nexus. With the Grey Ones dying off, Queen Myrrah made sure they were controlled and weren't allowed to take care of Griffin. Though her intentions of why are unknown, the lack of care in Griffin's area allowed the Imulsion to slip through the cracks in the stone and around the pool that Griffin was submerged in.

By the time Valkyrie releases and awakens Griffin, he had become infected with the Imulsion but not completely succumbed to the infection. He managed to fly Sapphire and all of Delta squad out of the Nexus and back to Jacinto. With the last of his remaining energy, and to prevent himself from becoming completely Lambent, Griffin destroyed himself. This caused the sinking of Jacinto and flooded the Hollows.

He is the second Titan to die from the Imulsion Infection.

When this was announced at the Xbox Showcase (and to top it off was the trailer that wrapped up the showcase), I was thrilled and almost couldn't believe it. I woke up the next morning with a dreamy feeling, thinking that yesterday was a dream. I absolutely love this series and I hope to write more origin stories based on Emergence Day. Though they won't be series, they will be shorts filled with survivors, high emotions, and completely original characters.
