Seattle Startup Resources
Since freshman year of college I've been following the Seattle Startup scene by reading and watching everything that I can online. This ultimately helped me gather a list of resources that I checked on a daily basis.
When my older brother, Nick Talwar, graduated from college and started working at Microsoft, he asked if I knew of any resources to help him learn more about the tech community around town. Like any good brother, I quickly sent him an email about all the resources I gathered online. Here is the original email from July 23rd, 2009:

Hi Nick, Here is a list of links to help you get active in the Seattle startup community. The community here is very helpful and has a lot to offer. If you go to some events you will be surprised at how many interesting startups are emerging from Seattle. Maybe we can go to an event sometime together and I can introduce Mike Koss to you. He's a nice guy who is always willing to help but he is pretty busy. We can go to an event and talk to him though.

I suggest first read up on the emails and also skim the past 2 months of threads. I think there is a lot of good information that will help you. Also, try to go to as many events as you can to show your face. I think at 9 am every Thursday there is an Eastside startup group who meets at Tully's in Redmond.

I wrote this email in 2009 and the Seattle tech community has evolved over the years. For example, now I read John Cook and Todd Bishop's new blog GeekWire everyday. They've been doing a great job of engaging the tech community and congrats to their recent milestone. Keep it up!
