The last few years we have taken our annual holiday with the family at the same location, in the same lodge. Each year we see the ducks and geese and watch their progress, obsessively counting the babies to make sure we haven't lost any during our stay! We did sadly lose one, it had a bad leg and after a couple of days we didn't see it any more.
It was also sad to see some holidaying children being allowed to run at the birds with sticks and generally harass and shout at them. It turns out that it wasn't only the birds that these particular children were upsetting!!
Once order had been restored and the threat of rampaging children removed, this lovely fluffy gosling was enjoying the sunshine whilst being watched by its mum and various brothers and sisters. It is a little burst of sun all on its own and never fails to make me smile.
