Electronic duo Gefahrgeist share new single ‘Parasites’
‘Parasites’ is the third single from Scottish electronic duo Gefahrgeist (Fiona Liddell and Niall Rae) who exploded onto the scene last year. The song explores the concept of an idea that makes itself at home in your brain and refuses to leave. With ‘Parasites’, Liddell and Rae showcase a catchier and more driven side to their sound.
‘Parasites’ is a downtempo electronic pop song. It was partly inspired by the film of the same name by Bong Joon-Ho (2019), particularly its themes of class warfare and societal constraints. The lyrics speak of being a willing servant to an impossibly powerful force, and sacrificing your own happiness to appease it.
