15. What’s your ideal first date?

I think for a first date, I prefer something low pressure and simple, like maybe lunch together, or even just getting coffee (or hot chocolate or tea, I’m not a big coffee drinker myself!) Either way, just a simple activity that lets you talk and get to know each other better to see if you feel comfortable with each other, and if you get along. I think that’s the most important thing on the first date. You can have more original and exciting dates later on!

45. favorite pajamas?

ahhh this is really hard because I love pajamas! I live in pajamas these days XD I guess my current favorite are soft, thin but warm plaid flannel pants that are mostly pink, with a bit of blue and black. I wear a normal t-shirt with them, and a plain pink flannel top over. It’s a bit like a sweatshirt. I like staying warm!

I also recently bought a pair that comes with navy blue pants with llamas all over them, and the top part is pastel pink and also has a big llama on it and it says “FA LA LA LA LLAMA” they’re very cute and they amuse me!

I’m bad at describing clothes, maybe I can show you pictures later instead, haha

10 Facts ask meme - Almodine

oh no now I actually have to think of 10 facts

Her name, Almodine, means “precious stone,” because I’ve always associated her with gemstones.

Almodine’s father was a magic teacher. She likely would have followed in his footsteps had things turned out differently.

She loves learning about other worlds’ history and culture, especially if it involves magic. (She’s a bit of a magic nerd)

Though there’s magic in place that allows people traveling between worlds to speak a world’s language without having to learn it, Almodine likes to try and learn the new languages anyway.

It’s tradition in her homeworld for mages to wear jeweled headbands starting at age 12. The one she wears was a gift from Vallen.

Her favorite color is light blue because that’s the color of her magic. It’s very comforting and familiar to her.

Almodine (along with Gloria and some others) is one of the oldest characters that I still write, having been created in like 2004? Maybe earlier?

Compared to some of my other old characters, her design hasn’t changed much over the years. Though there was apparently a point where I had her shirt and skirt colors swapped, which I promptly forgot about?

Uhh, I made a clay figure of her in school one time?

It’s very possible I’ll be revealing more of her story very soon

Ask meme - Cherry!

Ooh, I don’t talk about Cherry as often as I should!

Favorite thing about them: How simple she is! And by this I mean how much more simply she experiences the world compared to everyone around her. While the other characters have all their drama, Cherry just takes things as they come and doesn’t stress too much the small things. She knows her emotions, and she lets them guide her decisions without worry. She’s not dumb with optimism, just honest with her feelings (although that doesn’t mean she’s not naive lol). She still has range despite a lack of angst.

Least favorite thing about them: How difficult it is to pose her~ Since she’s basically just a ball with wings, I really only have two poses for her: wings folded and wings open. Her feet/legs are also so stubby that standing/sitting positions are super limited, and her wings are too big to properly fit in frames most the time for different “hand” gestures. This is why I don’t make a lot of art for her, since I struggle coming up with good compositions and poses.

Favorite line: “No, I lovingly grabbed it from the floor.” (I more just love the context of this line; showing Cherry’s more deadpan side is always fun)

Random headcanon: For a while, I liked to imagine that she had a fascination with ribbons. She loved collecting them, playing with them, nesting with them, etc. It’s not something I play into as much these days, but perhaps an opportunity to do so will come up some day!

Unpopular opinion: Uhh, lesse... Kinda hard for me to tell what opinions are popular or not already, so I’ll just take a shot in the dark x3 I don’t think Cherry shows up enough in the comics right now, and I’d love to do better incorporating her into each story.

Song I associate with them: Hmm, good question. Often it’s hard for me to find songs that match my characters well (this is why I don’t make soundtracks lol), but thinking on it now, the first thing that comes to mind is Owl City. Songs like “Strawberry Avalanche” and “Hot Air Balloon” I think fit her personality, and I’m sure it’s music she’d love listening to as well.

See, I thought the same thing. =o But! Upon a closer reading, I realised it says the way to ward off the heron is to “repost this comment on 10 other pages”. So to me, it seems that a simple reblog is just sharing information, since that isn’t exactly reposting, and certainly not 10 times. Ergo, one can reblog it and still have a heron come and rearrange their kitchen! \ o /

How does your character behave around children?

When on the job (ie being a villain) Queenie doesn’t much care if there are kids around or not. A crowd of vulnerable civilians is just that, and hey, if any kids get caught in the mayhem maybe the parents should reconsider raising their family in a city built on super battles. 

On a more individual level, though, with the villain (or even civilian) persona, she’d probably try to keep her distance, not catch the attention or interest of the kids in question. If they do get close, she might even try and scare them off with her villain clout (to which probably a fair amount are undeterred because they’re big villain fans). I imagine seeing little kids, especially with their parents, makes her a bit uncomfortable, as it reminds her of her own family.

As a pop star before the whole villain gig, she grit her teeth and forced a smile when she had to do extended kid time. After all, it wasn’t always uncomfortable, at least once she got her feet wet. There are some cool kids out there.

What does your character believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?

Liz has been in a bit of a spiritual limbo for a while. She’s experimented here and there, researched various beliefs and non beliefs, but hasn’t really committed to anything at this point. Combine the whole alien memory reincarnation thing, and neither I nor her really know what she thinks right now.

Her thoughts on the afterlife can vary depending on the point in her life. During high school and a few years after that, she didn’t think anything happened after people died, but this didn’t really scare her. 

These days, a lot of how she thought and viewed the world has been challenged and changing (even before the whole alien thing), so this isn’t as much the case now. She’s basically gone from “Nothing happens” to “I’unno what happens, but maybe actually something?” She’s more confused than scared.

Since, as mentioned before, once you find our you’re actually a reincarnated alien brain, who are you to question what can or can’t be possible.
