Entry 1, Subject A: Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli, known as Charlie, fought alongside a group of rebels who referred to themselves as The Crystal Gems. She acted as second in command to a Rose Quartz, formerly known as Suzy, and fought to make sure that she was never in any direct danger. She would be poofed multiple times during the gem war, but never saw these as defeats, only as victories since she was protecting Suzy. It was odd behavior, considering Charlie’s previous position. She’d shown tendencies that would relate to that of a simple Pearl.

When questioned of this, Charlie’s response was as followed: “I never wanted to be in a set rank, so I would sneak off and train with other gems. Just so happened that I took more to the Pearls than the Lazulis. There was something about the potential of working under a Diamond that made me ache for that kind of importance.” During Pearl placement, however, Charlie watched as a Pearl, now known as Brian, was paired with Suzy. Charlie, assumedly taken aback by Suzy, would leave her own placement to run off with her, wanting to know more about Suzy and gain her trust. We are unsure as to why she felt this way, and Charlie refused to comment on the subject, seemingly becoming quite emotional when asked.

Charlie would continue to fight alongside Suzy until the tragic shattering of Pink Diamond. At this time, Charlie and the Gems would disappear and the Homeworld Gems would return back to Homeworld, leaving behind thousands of shattered and cracked gems, whom would be found and bubbled by The Crystal Gems over the years leading up to Suzy’s ‘disappearance’.
