In a moment of sales and desperation I bought Gothic 1. I tried to play it... twice, but I am still at the beginning. Still, I have a rule, which is never to buy new games if I have more than four unplayed games in my computer! Finger crossed I will play it soon.

Morrowind is another classic rpg that I bought this year and I am more than ready to play it with the companion+romance mod! This will probably be the next one I will play.

Icewind Dale 2 is another immediate decision mostly taken because of the npc mod pack.

Starting with Blackwall Legacy and ending up in Blackwall Deception, Gog recently sold the bundle heavily discounted. I am on a mission to play all the  Wadjet Eye games, as their adventure games never disappointed me before.

Gemini Rue, I actually started it just now as it is a very short (about 4 hours?) adventure game! Part of my mission to play all the games by Wadjet Eye.

I don’t own Vampire the Masquerade nor I own Disco Elysium, but there is a high probability that I will buy both of them as soon as I finish my list. In particular, Disco Elysium seems like my kind of game, delicious isometric rpg!

I just want Kane to take both Sayuri and Azriel/∆-6 home with him to Taurus where they’ll eventually figure everything out & start dating each other & continue to live in an “us against the world”-OT3 forever is that too much to ask

Blackwell and Wadjet Eye Games Communities

For anyone who is interested, I’ve made us a community both on Pillowfort and Dreamwidth for celebrating the Blackwell series and Wadjet Eye Games more generally. I’ve elected to call it “Spook & Ginger Tonic,” which felt appropriate theme-wise.

The visual design of Gemini Rue during normal play is often subdued and limited. Details are kept to a bare minimum in order to ensure tha tthe general feeling of a character or location comes through. However, when characters begin talking, their portraits often indicate major details about them that bring out important aspects of their character- an unshaven face, a thinning hairline, even just a general youthful fullness that allows the game to maintain it’s base visual design while also building on their characters via dialogue-less means.
