Thoughts on Mark’s “Thinking Out Loud” cover.
@markiplier If there was ever something I hoped you’d see, it’s this.
This is longer than I thought it'd be. TL;DR at the bottom.
I already knew you had a powerful voice, and that was confirmed here. I also knew that you'd put your all into practicing guitar, which obviously you have. All in all, the work you've done shows through, and I do think that, especially for something so new, you did an amazing job. I only have one bit of constructive criticism to give.
While it's clear you worked hard, it's also clear how nervous you were during the whole song. As someone who's felt that nervousness before, I recognized certain things that gave it away. My advice is to keep practicing. Keep performing for others, even if it's just your closest friends. You'll get more and more comfortable with it, and your quality will improve as you do. You were holding back, maybe not on purpose, but out of nerves. You stepped out of your comfort zone and we’re all so proud of you for it.
I guess what I'm trying to say is: It's clear that if you really open it up, go full-throttle without fear, your voice, which is already powerful, will be extraordinary, and your playing will go from great to amazing.
TL;DR- you're doing great, just keep practicing and putting yourself out there. Let go of your fear and let your talent soar. And remember that we're behind you the whole way!
