9/9/2017 - Thought of the Day
Nothing wakes me up out of a funk quite like lime or lemon water. Been making a habit of drinking it all week and I really feel a difference. Not even bothering w/ coffee for now.

9/4/2017 - Appreciated
“A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful. But if he confesses and forsakes them, he gets another chance.” Proverbs 28:13
It takes a real man to be able to let down his ego and recognize his faults and mistakes, and, all the better if he can learn from it and work through it. Truly appreciated.
9/2/2017 - Hello September
It’s 3:31 AM and I’m sitting in my car outside my home and decided on making a personal entry on this blog, something I haven’t really done before. I tried venting my thoughts via a physical journal a few months back but I ended up losing it somehow. I suppose journaling online can be a better medium in the sense that its easier to maintain and can be more convenient to write in. Having an outlet to write out my thoughts and being able to easily keep track of them, I feel, will prove useful to my personal development. I already see that most of these journal entries will be marked under private so that I may be able to write more freely and openly without any qualms.
I just returned from an hour long drive back to central jersey from up north. Went to a korean style spa, which I’ve been a fan of since being introduced to me by a friend last year. Checked in at 2:00 AM on Saturday and checked out 2:00 AM on Sunday. Took the time to take care of my skin and hair. Discovered sweet almond oil because Walmart didn’t carry rosehip oil, and used it at the spa on my face, body, and hair and, while its only been 24 hours and some change of using the product, from what I can tell, its made my hair quite soft (better than the after feel of a coconut oil treatment). I put it on my hair while in the sauna to protect it from overdrying and used it as a hot oil treatment.
From what I’ve read online, sweet almond oil is suppose to work well for acne and acne scarring. The almond oil works to dissolve deeply seated sebum on the face and because of its Vitamin A content, has a retinoic effect on renewing the skin. I’m praying this works well for my acne. Its plagued me for the better part of this year. Being able to end 2017 with glowing, healthy skin is definitely goals. Using it on my face feels lovely. Its a dry oil, so as long as you use it sparingly, it will absorb well and won’t leave you feeling greasy.
After having rid myself of the nicotine in my system, or most of it anyway, from detoxing in the saunas, my aim is to not smoke anymore from here on out. Cold turkey. Feel like I’ve wasted a lot of life on cigarettes already, and, I want to make it up to myself. With that will come less head fog, as well as other positive effects, but being more clear headed is in the forefront of reasons to quit with school approaching on the 5th.
There is something psychologically pleasing, in this symbolic sense, in the act of tending to one self, even if it is seemingly for no other reason than vanity. Like say, exfoliating one’s skin, this act of sloughing off dead skin cells in the public bath, can metaphorically symbolize the shedding of a past, or doing away with that which no longer serves us in the way of our well-being and our greater good.
It is now 3:58 AM and I’ve been sitting in my car for far too long. Looks like the rain stopped for now. I’m going inside now.
The Consolation Born From A Wilting Rose I’m plagued by trivialities, But my god, I can’t stop, For the life of me, I cannot stop. So, then, what is one to do? Give in to the relief of chaos and create from the shattered fragments anew? Or, should one strive to make light of these neurotic states, but, run the risk of ugliness spewing forth from having actually repressed them despite well-to-do intentions? The choice of immediacy in satisfaction is all too alluring. In retrospect, these rose-colored glasses, oh how painfully foolish to have believed that this hue could somehow permeate and saturate the whole spectrum of colors should I continue to wear them. I can only laugh at my self, then, proceed on…
You've got to evaluate the exchange within the dynamic of any relationship. It's not about keeping tabs, but, you've got to take care of those that really care for you back and fall back from those that are more in tuned with their personal gain. It's also important, not to harbor any bitterness or regret for the things you've done, especially so, if the intent of your doings was done in love.

2013: Year of the Black Water Snake
Oh well, now that I've learned that 2013 is the Year of the Water Snake, I did some research about it - wishing I could find things that are worth-knowing about myself and my luck for the coming year.
I'm an Earth Snake, by the way. Born in 1989, Gemini and beautiful. (with emphasis on the last word haha)
These are the things I've learned:
From http://www.usbridalguide.com/special/chinesehoroscopes/Snake.htm
THE EARTH SNAKE 1929 AND 1989 - Earth Snakes are the most relaxed of the breeds. They lead calm lives and offer a down-to-earth appeal to any conversation or outing. This may make them seem more friendly, as you may not feel the need to wonder what he’s got up his sleeve. They may also shun the need to lash out or take risks, but it isn't from paranoia. They figure their good sense and work ethic will pay off and bring them much fortune and material satisfaction.
HEALTH - Snakes become easily stressed and have to avoid hectic schedules or noisy atmospheres. They do not get a rush from adrenaline, instead, a headache. They need calm and quiet to thrive and succeed. A Snake must have sleep and relaxation to live a long, healthy life.
THE SNAKE ON VACATION - Snakes love to vacation. They get a great deal of pleasure out of just being lazy. And they love luxurious things, often spending their money on material desires they probably don’t need. When a Snake goes on vacation, he really goes on vacation. Fancy restaurants, expensive health clubs and spas, anything in which they can fully indulge themselves. Their getaways must be fully equipped to pamper their every want, or the Snake will become stressed.
GEMINI SNAKE - These Snakes can talk their way out of anything, so a confrontation with them is a lost cause. They are well-educated and a bit amenable, making them quite intriguing.
So what's gonna happen to me this coming 2013?

The Snake In Love
Whether single or partnered, the advice for you is the same: open up! No, it may not be easy, but you're always willing to do what it takes to make money, aren't you? You're willing to take risks because you know the reward is there. Somehow this business savvy you're so well known for doesn't translate for you into your personal life. High risk brings high reward, so try and let your guard down.
The Chinese 2013 horoscope for Snake also shows us that you need to work on being less sneaky. You're quite the suspicious one, and so you use this as an excuse to snoop through belongings or manipulate your partner into telling you something they don't want to tell you. This is not going to get the desired response. Your partner may be tricked into sharing something, but it won't be what you want to hear.
The Snake at Work The Chinese 2013 horoscope for Snake shows us that if you want to be successful in your career this 2013 year of the black Snake, then you must be willing to use your tenacious nature to your advantage. You are quite willing to put yourself out there and take a chance with work, which is a great thing, but this year will bring new struggles. There may come a point when your job becomes overwhelming and you consider simply giving up. Don't do it. Remember that you've gotten through a lot in your life and you will get through this, too. What may initially seem to be a long-term problem can actually be overcome much faster than you may think it will. Just put your head down, work through it, and come out the other end. Your Chinese 2013 horoscope shows us that this 2013 year of Snake is a year for you to open up on a personal level, and that advice can be used for your professional life as well. This doesn't mean you have to tell your boss all your personal business, but it does mean that you should avoid the role of 'strong and silent' at work. Those who know you know that you can be quite warm. Let that personality shine through at work and you won't regret it.
Chiron, the wounded healer is also active this 2013 year. Previously wounded parts of your personality will rise up for recognition and healing. Stuffing painful feelings away when they are occurring is a helpful technique in a moment of crises, but leaving it stuffed will cause it to fester. This 2013 year of Snake Gemini will have many opportunities to release and resolve important issues. When you find yourself in fear, or embarrassed, or shy and withdrawn- it's likely that something form the past is being triggered. Remember, it's never what is actually going on in the moment that's causing the upset. This moment now is perfectly fine. In fact, it's a gift, and some say that is why we call it the "present". Use this time to allow your feeling to be as they are. Don't run from them anymore- simply be with your feelings, witnessing, breathing. That is all that is required to move through and beyond. Gemini 2013 horoscope holds promise of deep cleansing transformation- Ride the waves bravely into your new world
I may not believe everything I've found out, but definitely it was fun reading stuff that I'm not actually aware of. But one thing's certain about this coming year... I'm gonna own it!
Long live Snake people. :)
