All my WIP get written under a generic title - John x reader 327 or whatever the hell number I'm up to by now. Once it's mostly complete I go hunting for a military turn of phrase that I think fits the vibe of the chapter and that becomes the official title. SNAFU stands for Situation. Normal. All. Fucked. Up. which I think sums up the story pretty well.
Right now I'm in the middle of a scene involving more characters than I typically write for in a chapter. I've gotten away with a really limited POV in my series which means I don't have so many characters to worry about in a scene. Balancing the different voices, making sure they're all distinct and true to their characters and entertaining and pushing plot is giving me more to contend with than I normally do. I don't like forcing dialogue, I prefer when it flows naturally so right now I'm stuck in a spot where I'm considering what the person being addressed says in response. The direction of the scene will hinge on the response so it's got to be accurate and true to form. It will come it just takes a lot of staring into the middle distance lol.
