Perhaps some GemStress for this week’s theme?
Gem was often warned of the witch of the woods. All the young satyrs were, probably a way to stop them wandering off.
Gem never paid much attention to it. The woods have always been kind to her, and this witch has never materialised. Not beyond markings on trees that the others her age called curses. Who would even waste that energy? Don't they know how difficult magic is?
Then she finds the cottage.
She'd been out gathering - her basket full of mushrooms and herbs. The mushrooms were particularly bountiful, so she followed them deeper and deeper into the forest. Until she found a clearing, and a cottage, and a very pretty woman tending to flowers outside.
Gem notes the charms swaying in the wind in the trees around the clearing, and the sigils carved on the door. She also notices how the woman, the witch, smiles at her, bright and welcoming.
Gem is glad she didn't believe those stories.
