Jeez man, this animatic is reminding me how much I hate drawing skeletons 😭💔 anyways, here’s Emerald Sans’ redesign :D I realized all the gemtale brothers had no differences to their get ups (they’re supposed to be similar but come on younger me, give these boys some originality 😔) So I gave Emerald a slight redesign, and since he and Amber are twins then they’ll probably look the same with a few different tweaks :3
this is my first time drawing some of them in color as well 😭💔 (Minus Ruby, Diamond, Sapphire, and Vermillion) and out of the original 8 Gemtale brothers I’ve drawn 3, so we’re doing okay so far 😭🙏 animatic hopefully coming out sometime this month 😔
[Wanted to write a loose retelling of Swan Lake with gemtale! Odette belongs to @gilfodile ! Also, for the dialogue parts, the first dialogue always belongs to Odile while the second always belongs to Odette!]
Fairytales are straightforward stories. It begins, once upon a time, there lived a princess cursed by another or trapped in a tower, then came a prince on a white horse or a knight in shining armour, and so it ends, a happily ever after.
And thus, we start again. Once upon a time, there lived a lone white swan.
“I must say, your understanding of that subject is greatly lacking.”
Then the lone white swan met a black swan.
“Ohhh? Enlighten me then, O' great philosopher.”
The two were like oil and water.
“You should brush up on the basics.”
“Perhaps you'd like to join me then, what with your lacking of the fundamentals after all.”
Like the mountains and the oceans.
“HAH! I never took you for one to consider Clement's model on Craft Theory.”
“I just so happen to have a strict critic with questionable tastes.”
The sun and the moon.
“What outdated articles… You are aware there are newer articles in regards to such theories with deeper understanding of them now, right?”
“Well, now I do! Care to impart such enlightenment to me?”
Yet the two grew closer with one another.
“You're quite lacking on the understanding of that subject, aren't you? O' great philosopher.”
“What thievery to use my own nickname for you towards me, haha!”
With the harmony of balance between the oil that sits atop the water, of the boundary between the ocean and the shore, of the night and the day. The white swan was lonely no more with the black swan to accompany her. Until…
“I'll be leaving tomorrow.”
“That's rather abrupt, where are you going?”
“Just… anywhere. I've been thinking about it for a few days now. I'd like to travel, outside of Ka Bue.”
“Haha! How kind of you to give me your farewells in advance then!”
“Hm, wouldn't want you feeling lost without me. HAH! Do take care not to miss me so much.”
“Ohhh really now? Shouldn't that be my line, O' great philosopher? I wouldn't want you feeling so lonely without my company.”
The black swan left the next day, without much of a farewell nor a look back. It wasn't at all necessary anymore when her farewells were spoken a day before, it wasn't at all needed to look back on a country she will one day return to. It wasn't at all required of her, when no one will be there to receive her farewells or to see her wave goodbye. The white swan wasn't around to watch her leave.
The white swan was busy, the white swan was lonely. The white swan was cursed, condemned to the lake that is Ka Bue. She was missing something, a piece of her identity, a section of her memory. She looked down one day and saw white feathers on the hands that can vaguely remember the warmth of a father. Her wings were clipped and she can no longer fly unless she regains what she lost.
And so she searched and searched and searched. The lone white swan with wings clipped and feathers in disarray, could only grasp sand slipping through her hold. Until she met her other half, a black swan meant to only rival her. It was annoying, it was frustrating, it was irritating, and yet above all, it was comforting. The comfort of a companion, the safety of a friend, the warmth of a rival. The black swan was her polar opposite and yet they were in harmony. They were in harmony, and yet without the other, it had grown dissonant.

However, the lone white swan still had someone else, her rival with the darkness of the night painting her feathers. The black swan meant to only rival her, became her companion, and her friend. And it was enough for the white swan.
The lone white swan had someone to accompany her.
The white swan had someone to share her warmth with.
The princess had someone to call her friend.
The young lady had someone to care for.
Odette had someone to be with.
She had someone.
And yet, Odette was left behind.
And yet, the young lady walked the familiar paths alone.
And yet, the princess' heart aches from a vacant space.
And yet, the white swan's side lacked a familiar warmth.
And yet, the lone white swan had no one else to accompany her again.
O' white swan, where have your other half gone?
“It's okay.”
O' princess, what have your crown become?
“I'm sure she's having fun.”
O' young lady, why have you spent your days alone?
“I can always send her a letter anyway.”
O' Odette, where have your Odile gone?
“…But where is she right now?”

Next is the universe of ChibiTale, which also follows a destruction route lol
So we begin the route as normal, everything plays out like a normal passive route, yay we get to the surface all of that. Things really get interesting when the monsters (with the aid of Frisk) get to the surface. When they arrive everything is destroyed and covered in a brown, chocolate looking goop (which we later learn is monster essence/blood and liquified bodies) we discover this was caused by a giant spider demon (design will be released later, also I forgot his name sorry lol T^T) anyways this spider demon since it’s a monster it needs a monster host, demon spider decides Sans is a right fit for that role, and Sans gets possessed (oh nooooo, rip Sans) Everyone kinda panicked and Demon spider(Chibi) escapes with Sans as his new host. Everyone comes up with a plan to get rid of the demon by capturing it, TRIGGER DEMON EXERCISING MONTAGE! Long story short, it all failed. So, getting desperate, Frisk teams up with Papyrus and they go on a mission to find Gaster and beg for his help. They end up having to go through this whole thing to revive him(Oml how did Chara do this in FallenTale???) anyways Gasters back and is all like wtf is happening why am I not in the void, whatever whatever. Frisk explains everything to Gaster and they devise a plan to get the demon out of Sans.
MEANWHILE AT THE-
Anyways meanwhile Chibi has escaped from this au and ends up in (you guessed it) FallenTale, and interrupts a very awkward conversation between Fallen and Ruby.
So basically the au known as GemTale is different from others, it’s split up into three different routes, Genocide, Pacifist, and Destruction. The Destruction au is the main one that I use:
In the destruction Timeline of GemTale the human never falls down into the underground, this takes place WAY before that.
A gem known as the Gem Of Dreams powers the timeline and is protected by seven brothers, Diamond, Topaz, Emerald, Amethyst, Ruby, Sapphire, and Amber (in order from oldest to youngest). Each brother has a different job to fulfill in the cave that holds the Gem Of Dreams. Diamond is the leader of it all, he mostly helps Topaz guard the entrance, Diamond is 10,000 years old. Topaz guards the front entrance of the cave, Topaz is 1000. Emerald and Amethyst are twins who both do supply runs to nearby villages, they are both 800. Ruby protects the gem with Sapphire and Amber, Ruby is 100, any protecter 100 or under is assigned with the task of protecting the gem. Sapphire protects the gem with Ruby and Amber, Sapphire is 70. Amber protects the gem with Ruby and Sapphire, Amber is 30. All of these “gem protectors” are Sanses.
Now for the story lol:
Ruby wants to be an entrance guarder like his brother Topaz, every time he asks he gets rejected, today is Ruby’s 100th birthday. The da goes by as normal, everyone doing their jobs, until something happens. The forest surrounding the cave is dying and the gem’s color seems to be fading (the gem switches through all of the colors of the rainbow constantly, the colors getting dimmer mean that the gem is dying) Ruby thinks nothing of it but Sapphire is worried and tells Ruby to fetch Diamond and Topaz (Amber is sleeping by the gem)
Diamond seems quite worried about this and Topaz thinks nothing of it. Ruby comes back with Diamond and Topaz, the gem suddenly turns a bright red color (the color of a Ruby).
Diamond gasps in shock and Topaz is so confused. Diamond tells Ruby to touch the gem, Ruby refuses because the number one rule is not to touch the gem. Diamond yells at Ruby to do it. Ruby hesitantly takes a step forward and touches the gem, the gem basically kills Ruby to keep itself alive. Diamond, seems to be used to this and tells everyone to continue working. Topaz yells at Diamond about how Ruby just died in front of them and how Diamond’s just acting like he’s taking a nap. Diamond of course ignores Topaz, scoops up Ruby’s body and walks to the nearby graveyard in the forest run by yet another sans named Cole. Cole buries Ruby, Diamond leaves. It’s raining. BUT IT REFUSED. The gem cracks from inside the cave and no one notices, Ruby somehow survived this and digs himself out, but his body is not his own currently, he can see everything that’s going on but can’t do anything. Meanwhile Diamond tells Topaz to come inside, Topaz walks inside while Diamond stares at the forest with a sudden realization that they’re all going to die. (Context: Ruby is a red gem, back when Diamond was young there was another red gem named Vermillion who the gem killed to sustain itself, Vermillion came back and killed everyone but Diamond who killed Vermillion) Ruby (who is currently possessed by the spirit of Vermillion) approaches the cave, Topaz calls for Diamond to come inside, Diamond stays outside. “It…never rains here…why is it raining?”
‘Ruby’ is standing in front of Diamond, his sword unsheathed. After a battle ‘Ruby’ killed Diamond, Topaz comes out right as ‘Ruby’ killed Diamond. ‘Ruby’ kills Topaz and takes his scarf as a trophy. He then walks inside of the cave and kills Emerald, Amethyst, and Amber, then goes back outside. Ruby regains control of his body, he realizes what he’s done and is staring at the dead bodies of his brothers, obviously traumatized. Then Sapphire come out of the cave and stares a Ruby. Ruby claims he didn’t mean to kill them, Sapphire doesn’t listen and puts Ruby in a cell for 300 years. Sapphire now has possession of what’s left of the gem and leaves the au, forgetting about Ruby and leaving him behind. Since the gem protectors are immortal to age Ruby lives alone in the cell for three hundred years where he goes insane. He slowly digs his way out and on the 300th day he makes it to the surface. He then gets teleported to another au (for unknown reasons).
Ruby gets teleported to the destruction route of an au called FallenTale.
This summary is a bit all over the place and slightly too detailed lol
