About the rebellion -
I always thought the Killjoys were more of a “just leave us alone if we leave you alone“ sort of movement, the only reason they kept clashing with BLI is because a) BLI didn’t leave them alone and b) kept coming after Gracie. But other Killjoy gangs, who are further out in the zones, and/or don’t happen to have the living nuclear bomb daughter of a famous Analog War rebel leader under their protection, are a lot more chill and have next to no confrontations with Dracs and co.
I understand the word “rebels“ in a punk sort of way. They’re not rebels in the sense of a resistance (let’s face it, there aren’t enough of them to really take on BLI), they’re rebels because they do what they want and live away from Battery City and BLI, and maybe occasionally make fun of the city and its people. Which, in BLI’s eyes, is of course an act of resistance or even terrorism in itself. Which is why they occasionally patrol the inner Zones, to keep up an impression of having everything under control. In reality, they don’t care that much, they only go after the Four because they want Gracie, who is the only real threat to them.
