He didn’t need to be told that twice. Even as Edward gripped his sore leg, he was laughing as his horse cantered off, taking his pants with it. However the hell that had happened, he didn’t know. It was all a little fuzzy after he hit his head tumbling off of the horse.

She had heard him talking to mother about an hour ago, so she was prepared when her father entered the room. Faye was not looking forward to this conversation in the slightest. She didn’t need it, not by a long shot (not that he needed to know that), and she really did not want to have it with him. At least if it had come from her mother it would have been easier. Well, might as well skip the awkward allegories that would likely prelude the core of the visit.

She was unsure where the comment came from or what had caused the other to utter it, but Caterina’s heart clenched and her eyes stung with tears instantly. She closed her laptop and set it to the side to sit next to Devani.

“Dev, you’re not a burden, not to anyone. You’re not a burden to me. Did someone tell you that? Who are they? I’ll go beat them up right now.“ She wasn’t being entirely serious, of course, but maybe the idea of such a skinny pacifist challenging anyone to a fight would be enough to make her giggle.

Cat will often ask Dev about her glass work because she is interested and because she likes hearing her talk about her work because it’s clear she cares about it a lot.

Cat likes to invite Dev to charity events that she hosts even when she doesn’t commission her because she likes having her around for these sorts of things.

They go out to lunches often and they go to places where they can sit outside. Ollie enjoys it a lot, even when he’s working at that’s not his primary concern lol.

As a gift, before she knows that Dev is a dragon, she gets her Eragon because she likes the series and wanted to see if she might like it too.
