Good afternoon, ladies, gentlemen, and creatures alike.
I am making this post because in my updates, I mentioned that I wanted to create a Discord server to grow a community. However, now, I don't think I should bother creating one, given the recent policy update(s) and their response to the backlash they have been receiving as of late. I will always stand by this: You should not be giving any sensitive data to any big corporations, under ANY circumstances, especially to one where, at the bare minimum, 70,000 IDs were stolen from a data breach that happened only a few months ago (September 2025). These corporations always try to use the guise of "Protect the children." Not to mention that they have already been caught lying on multiple occasions regarding this new policy. However... Given how frequently people use Discord and the lack of a firm alternative... I think it's going to be similar to the Skype situation, where it stayed until something new came along.
Am I going to leave Discord?
...We will see...? I'm not going to support them. I've already cancelled any subscriptions I've had with them, and I don't intend to go back. Aside from that, I do have separate servers where I keep ideas and dnd/vtm stories, and it is a place where I am involved in larger communities, from LARP to Dungeon Master groups and Charity events. I'm already working on transferring things to docs, but... We'll see how hard it hits....
I could go on and on about how much I hate everything that is happening in the world, but I will leave that there and now ramble about somethings more positive.
First off, I mentioned a little earlier that I'm a part of Dungeon Master groups, and I'm excited to announce that I will be a DM at Indianapolis's Gencon as well as an event staff member for City of Glass Games, Amoirais, and TTRPGive. I want to make it clear, I'm NOT a staff member for Gencon, only for Amoirais/City of Glass games/TTRPGive. I'm very excited for this opportunity, and I can't wait to see y'all if any of you come by.
Outside of that, I have been taking steps to make some comics and have been adjusting my Kofi behind the scenes due to the recent Discord updates. I am also working on updating my website design and prices, but the changes won't take effect until I close my commissions, which I plan to do in March (I will make a separate post on commissions later next week).
For those who don't know what Kofi is, it's basically a Patreon page, but you don't need a big following to keep the page up. If you are looking to support me directly, I suggest you support me through my website via commissions or through my Kofi page (link in bio), because while I am happy to be a part of the Twitch onboarding program, which gives me access to make Emotes for you guys, as well as having channel points, bits, and subscriptions. However, I do not receive any funds directly unless I reach Affiliate status. I can "use" the money I have earned, but it's only for buying bits and gift subscriptions.
In all honesty, I'm not even upset by that. I only wanted the emotes and channel points unlocked so you guys can express yourselves in the chat and interact more with me and the stream. I mostly do art on stream and play games *on occasion*, but I plan to expand my schedule to stream more often. But I've been very tired as of late, and it's been hard to add Saturdays each week, so I do apologize to those who have been looking forward to joining my streams on that day. T^T
I still stream on Mondays weekly at 7:00 pm CST.
On that note, that's all I have to say for the moment. Thank you so much for reading, and I wish you all the best.
