While nearly anyone who has heard of anything regarding transgender issues has heard of the more "traditional" GRS for AMAB people (used to construct a neovagina and labia from existing penile/scrotal tissues), this procedure does not cover the bases for every AMAB person. In particular, a growing number of non-binary-identified people — in particular, ones with a neutrois identity — are much more interested in simply eschewing their external genitalia entirely.

2 and a half weeks on T

Ok my voice is DEFINITELY changing.

I was singing in the car again today, and there are like... chunks missing from the upper end of my range?? I used to have a pretty nice head voice/falsetto but notes I used to be able to hit perfectly now sound breathy and thin. And my lower range has 100% deepened.

I don't think any of this comes through in my normal speaking voice, but it's still exciting!!

One month HRT today. Well, month of spiro, half month of estradiol. So far the changes are much lower sex drive, more difficulty coming, mood swings, minor minor minor skin softening, thirst and occasional nipple tenderness. Socially speaking, my name is used by pretty much everyone. I am still seem as male by pretty much everyone. I'm not tucking yet but I am wearing women's jeans and sweaters. I am not wearing a bra yet. It's hard to find clothes that fit. I'm not wearing makeup yet and I need to get my eyebrows done. So yeah, my transition is going well, just slow to make changes. I am taking my time.

I switched to estradiol patches yesterday and my mood is already so much steadier. I really want the changes I want to start happening. But I know that takes time.

I have my new full name picked out. I let my mom pick my middle name to help her process all of this. I thought that wouldn't work out well, but she came up with a middle name I really like. I want to change my name legally soon, but I am kinda nervous. What if this weird feeling of being called Teagan never wears off? I've been attributing it to the whole having a new name after having the same on for almost 26 years thing. So I will probably change it in a month or so. My nipples are starting to get sensitive and my mood is swinging. This is day 19 of spiro and day 5 of estradiol. Still tapering up my estradiol dose. Will be up to my current full dose on Thursday. People are picking up on the Teagan thing rather well. Still misgendering me though after like two years of they/them. Ugh. Okay. I just wanted to write a little update.
