Why are people so bent on defending the ENGLISH LANGUAGE when it's a barely intelligible mess of words from other languages? And English grammar is just as messed up. English is only sacred when policing marginalized groups, apparently.

Seriously. Like, English major and English teacher here. You can't argue that etymology is reliable in any way shape or form in determining definitions with any certainty. 

ESPECIALLY when the people who a word is DESCRIBING is telling you that you are wrong.
