Regret
MANGA SPOILERS DOWN BELOW
“Do you regret joining, Wakasa?”
Wakasa didn’t answer me as I wrapped gauze around his arm.
“Waka, I’m talking to you.”
Wakasa tsked and looked away. I finished wrapping the gauze on his arm and cupped his cheeks, forcing him to look at me.
“Do you regret it, Imaushi?” I asked again.
“And why do you care?” He replied, jerking his head away.
“I care because you’re literally going to fight teenagers,” I said. “Teenagers, Waka! They’re all kids!”
Wakasa stood up and I immediately grabbed his shoulder.
“Would you just-”
“God, you’re so annoying, Gene.”
My grip loosened and I finally let him go.
“....what?”
“You’re annoying, clingy, and suffocating,” said Wakasa. “It’s a wonder why I tolerated you for so long.”
My lower lip quivered at his words.
“Y-you don’t mean that-”
“I meant every single word.”
Hot tears started to trickle down my cheeks, my fingers fumbling to pull the ring off from my hand.
“Get out,” I told him, throwing the ring at him. “Get out you fuck!”
The ring bounced off of Wakasa and he didn’t even flinch.
“I hate you!” I sobbed. “I hate you, Wakasa!”
I felt hands gently resting on my shoulders, lips pressing against my forehead.
“I know,” Wakasa softly murmured.
With that, he grabbed his Brahman uniform then left. The soft click of the door, I sank to the floor, and sobbed again.
With a hand still resting on the doorknob, Wakasa hesitated on leaving. My sobs were more than enough reason to go back inside, but it wasn’t safe. Not for me especially.
I have many regrets, but I regret leaving you the most.
