A corriedale yearling 🍟🍟🍟
Next fleece! Another polwarth, with a multicolor (mostly med brown) fleece
I probably will try to separate out the colors during combing but this fleece is almost 7lbs so we will see how committed I am to that
50 grams of raw fleece -> 31 grams of washed fleece -> 14 grams of combed top
This is Henrietta, she’s a corriedale from Strawberry Ridge Farms (@/sheepnotstrawberries on instagram, online @ https://strawberryridgefarm.com)
She another big one, just under 7lbs, ~4in staple, and i’m very curious to see how much heathering is in the final prep + yarn, bc she’s a variegated grey fleece with those really pretty light browns at the tips.
More sorting, by color this time (this is the polwarth I scoured two(?) weeks ago)
I managed to get back to flicking/picking the fleece. I’m thinking 1.5, maybe 2 lbs to go into the flicked bin, most of it for blending + carding to spin into a nice sturdy cardigan, plus a bunch of extra for sampling and testing.
