Shoutout to queerstake for the incredible outpouring, not just of condemnation for the new policies, but for love for our queer siblings, particularly our trans and gnc ones. I think this is far more of what our Heavenly Parents want to see than vitriol and exclusion.

I think part of the thing that threw me so much when it came to the new handbook policy was how out of place it felt with everything else recent in the church. Finding the One, the huge focus on Christ, the new hymns, the emphasis that everyone is welcome and the atonement applies to all.

Idk I just don't think all of that fits with the exclusion of our trans siblings.

What annoys me most about the policy changes is the fact that 4 years ago they changed the handbook to discourage prejudice, saying that it is contrary to God's commandments, and encouraged members to only seek information from reliable, factual sources.

The new church handbook is out and I love it. It clarified and details so much!

But phew boy I can definitely think of some people who aren’t gonna like it.
