Not only is a point in his character bc he’s always been proud but also bc that’s EXACTLY how him and Brenda started off -- solely together to get under Sonny’s skin (and Lois’s attention)
Obvi that kinda chemistry could not be replicated and poor guy is probably just plain tired of getting hurt hahaha
