ooc: headcanon time

Based on this lovely post by generalanakinskywalker, Rex is fully aware of Skywalker and Amidala's relationship, including that they are married. It's a given considering the amount of time that Rex spends with Skywalker and the trust between the two of them.

Clint sighed, shaking his head, taking a flying leap over houses, landing on the roof, grabbing Anakin's hand right before he could slip. "You know, the whole point of this is to *not* get noticed, right?" He asked, smirking. "Come on now, get up, you're letting your mark get away."

The ensign had no idea of who this person was. He had never seen them the academy whilst he was there, and he hadn't seen them at all at any mandatory Starfleet gatherings either. Pavel looked at the person in front of him curiously, and with an awkward smile, he spoke. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, who are you? I have never seen you before." he said.

Anakin paused by the door, his blue eyes searching his friend for a moment for any sign of a joke, but saw none~ “You have never and can never fail me.” He said in a serious tone after a moment of silence, “When did these dreams start?”

It was easy to deflect the first statement made by Skywalker. Such feelings would be harbored until the day he met his demise which would, hopefully, be several years out. 

"I've always had nightmares," he admitted quietly. "It comes with my duty. They've bumped up in the shock factor, however. After the missions of late, I'm lucky if I can stay down for a solid two hours."

Rex didn’t need to look up to know who it was. It would have been sad if he had needed to do so after spending all this time with Skywalker.

“For some reason, I keep reliving missions over and over in my head. Mainly the bad ones. Umbara and Zygerria, to be specific. I can’t stop thinking about it. I failed my brothers on Umbara and failed the Togrutas on Zygerria. And I feel like I failed you.”
