what is your favorite ocean-related memory?

I like this question! :D

I know ~favorite~ implies just one, but I have a couple.. I live on an island okay I have an excuse.

When I was little, like six or seven or eight, I went to the beach with some family friends that I was really close to at the time. We scared off some seagulls and built a fort of sand, which, in retrospect, was actually pretty small and lame, but we decorated it with shells and rocks that we found and it was really pretty. I dunno, it was just one of those carefree memories of happier times.

And then when I was nine, I went on a cruise with my family, and I'm pretty sure we made stops at all different places and islands, but the only one I can remember clearly was the Cayman Islands. Anyway, while we were at one of the islands, we rented a Jeep and just DROVE. Really fast, over the sand, because there were no road signs or traffic lights, and the only thing that slowed us down by a little bit was the sight of another Jeep doing the same thing. And I remember turning the corner and suddenly seeing the ocean and being completely enthralled by how cerulean blue and bright and beautiful the it was. And there was virtually nobody on it, too. I mean, I'd been on the beach every summer at home and I knew the ocean is supposed to be blue, but the water here is just clear and gray, and there, it was the most magnificent thing I'd ever seen.
