The out-of-sorts general.
General Malaise was never quite comfortable around the other officers. In fact, he was never quite enthusiastic about anything. His staff tried to cheer him up to no avail.
His troops were always the last to battle, when they made it at all. Truth be told, it was this lethargy which served him well in climbing the ranks. His reluctance was not enough to really prove he wasn’t sending in the troops late on purpose He was known as the reinforcement general, coming in when the fight was almost over and the enemy, and his own side, were exhausted.
He couldn’t imagine civilian life, but beyond that he had the notion that it was just too much work. He didn’t really want to be a general, but what could you do? At least he got three squares, and people to do things for him.
