     “Mm, I guess some people are like that.” Not that he could criticize. Even if he didn’t hold grudges so much, he certainly found his ways to get even.

     “Rather than holding onto them, I prefer to file away and act as necessary.” He hardly ever got his personal feelings mixed up in a ‘grudge.’ Usually attempts to belittle or wrong him were laughable as pride wasn’t his driving factor.

      “But I agree, completely letting them go is hardly the fun, nor smart option.”

Irritation laced A’s voice. Usually he would handle this sort of situation more gracefully. He certainly had the self control and skill to, but he had no reason to anymore. It was a conscious decision to let himself fall into childish pettiness.

The annoyance wasn’t completely unprovoked; this man was assuming he was wrong because he was a younger unqualified citizen. Although it wasn’t surprising a detective didn’t take kindly to a random person at their crime scene telling them how to conduct their investigation.. A young woman had died and there would surely be more! ..Yeah, that’s what he cared about.

Why had he come why had he come why had he come??

He didn’t have to ask how he found him. This was the great detective L after all. Maybe he was worried about A exposing the secrets of the orphanage in some bitter revenge? It hadn’t been that long since he left Whammy’s, so the shame of failure still clung to him like a disease. Still, A had no doubt that the person on the other side of that phone truly was L.

     “My opinion on Kira?” A was a bit surprised. People usually weren’t so upfront about it, a sort of taboo like asking someone how much they made. He had complicated feelings towards the case, but that was more due to who was the head of the investigation.

      “I think.. Whether or not the person who leads it is doing the right thing,” morality wasn’t something he was interested in arguing right now, “I don’t trust them. Whoever they are seems childish, on the verge of hubris.”
