Context: Mistakes cost an arm and a leg

One of the many squads compiled of different skill sets put together to handle more complex missions; The Crew consists of four active members:

The Captain Fluke; origonaly detained at Summer Point under suspision of being a dwarven spy, was released arfter interogaation proved fruitless, has control of electrical currents on the micro level. Partner is a Hertz Leopard.

   Rage; a message carrier  from the front lines, noted for his precise control over quartz to the point of getting his wingless dragon to fly for up to an hour. Partner is a type of feathered velociraptor called a "chicken dragon."  

Evanz; a pyro-technician and bomb expert. Partner unknown. Full records from the bomb squad are pending.

 Hollow; a spy. As completed 267 of 270 classified missions. Noted skills are an aptitude with all known melee weapons, the one to find use of the black [heat-less] flame.

A fifth member of the squad appears on paper, though has yet to work with the four mentioned above.

In the middle of a mission to clear out an old mage lab, The Crew are incapacitated by a rogue detonation. The explosion obliterated the lab and all the ancient records it may have held.

Rage has lost the entirety of his right leg and half his left, sustained; third degree burns covering the right side of his body. Currently on leave for rehabilitation, expected to return to active duty.

Cpt. Fluke sustained minor burns from the explosion and lacerations of an unknown origin. Currently on leave pending a hearing*.

Hollow sustained burns and mysterious lacerations similar to the captain's but to a nearly fatal degree. Has under gone an untested** procedure to fuse his body what was left of his dragon. Currently stable but unconscious.

Evanz has second and third degree burns radiating from his upper torso out. Left arm was severed at the elbow, but has been saved by a type of mechanical prosthetic still in the testing phase. Currently on leave pending a formal hearing determining his part in the uncontrolled explosion.

* Because of his past link to the dwarves it's most likely more interrogation.

** Curaxu and the surgical team kinda came up with it on the spot. If I hadn't already written about dragon Hollow, there would be an early death in this story. _______________

 On a side note: Hurricane Leni, the wind assassin. While in her off time she playfully messes with air currents and thus the weather, she's noted for the ability to literally take a target's breath away. Quick reminder that wild fires get way out of control with a little wind, and Hollow's element is fire.

Also the elemental mages n the current time of Context are descendants of the old Mages. the Mage blood over time as been mixed with the (regular) humans they once experimented on. This diluted the natural control over energies and matter on a macro scale an example of this would be the Lava Mages which specialized in fire and most minerals in a way that now takes a fire user and three earth users to accomplish. Dwarvs on the other had no such skill, instead crafting great machines to channel and convert energies.

"But wait, Fluke uses electricity" well as Mad Hettie would say "You don't get to your 150th birthday without learning a thing or two."
